  1. It doesn't have a title. Let me look around. I can find a better one for ya.
  2. Pulled the mat this afternoon. And there went my dream for a perfect MJ. The passenger side wasn't to bad, surface rust that could be cleaned up in 5 minutes. The drivers side was something else. Heavy rust all over and a 2X4 inch hole under the gas pedal. Wonder how much I could sell it for now?
  3. How about a ridge reamer? :rotf:
  4. Now that would depend on the vehicle, wouldn't it? You don't see me dragging Fords in do you? :D
  5. Take the pistons to the machine shop so they can mike them and insure a proper fit. You want 0.0012-0.0013in clearance.
  6. Pat. You're on the very first of my 'when,if' list. I'll let you know.
  7. Pat, I'm absolutely positive Jim would be happy for you come down and buy him another MJ. You caught that too did ya?

    Mj Wanted

A big 10-4 on that. I have about every configuration Jeep ever made but my favorite, and daily driver is a 1987 2wd, 2.5 AX4. Every body wants a 4.0, 4wd, 5spd and they just never made that many of them. If you really have the need for one, in my opinion, buy a 2.5 or engineless, MJ body, 2wd and a XJ with all the goodies. Then start swapping. Dollarwise it'll cost about the same if not a little cheaper and you can get what you want. My $2 dollars worth.
  10. Take it back to where you got it. Tell them just what you told us. They will run a check on it. From there , who knows. Let us know what happens.
  11. In 1982 I T-Boned a Chevy that pulled out in front of me while I was on my hog. He pulled out from a stop sign, I had the right of way.Messed me, my leg up pretty good and totaled the hog. His ins adjuster was at the house trying to reach a settlement. I wanted $20 grand for the bike. I'd put a lot of work into it. He was offering $8,000. After way to much wasted time arguing, I got pissed. Grabbed my head and started moaning about how I couldn't sleep nights and had these crazy headaches ever since the wreck and maybe I had better call Joe Blow " A well known ambulance chaser with lot's of TV ads" He made out the check then and there.
  12. It's repairable. Find yourself a good body shop, and next time pick on somebody your own size. Glad you weren't hurt bad.

    Eijemann

Could be. Came out of a shop specializing in auto Electrical systems. Closed it doors in '51 when the owner died. I picked it up at the auction in '53.Been dragging it around ever since not wanting to scrap it. And not knowing what to do with it.

    Oh My Gawd

Every politician that voted for those laws are now out of a job, as of last election. Just waiting for this years session to start. And in all fairness, this is what the other side of the floorboard looks like. I honestly feel that if the rubber floormat had not been there, there would be no rust what soever. Careful scraping and poking reveals it's all surface rust. No holes or rust thru. A couple minutes with the sand blaster, a coat of POR, be good as new.
  18. Thank you for both those answers. Actually I never thought about it at all. It was an impulse question. Neighbor's kid wrecked his Jag and he was talking to me about fixing it or parting it.
  19. Has anybody installed, or even thought about installing a Jag independent rear end under a MJ? Wanting flex, I'm thinking that sucker would flex like a wet noodle. Thinking maybe the biggie would be matching gears. Specifically the one I have in mind is a '88 XJ6. Got a chance to pick it up dirt cheap. Curious minds want to know. :dunno: :hmm: :???:
  20. Or, take a old hack saw blade. Cut a notch in one end. Bend the tip out just a hair. Works just as good as a Slim jim and and convenient if you don't have access to a Slim Jim.

    Oh My Gawd

will you just look at all that rust. Reckon I'm just gonna have to junk it. Playing mind games with the rust belt boys. and girls. i
  22. Not really. I was thinking of the old 'It'll buff out'.
  23. So,,Who's gonna say it?
  24. 1. Keep them. You never know when you will need it. 2.Sell them. Somebody may just need that part and can't get their Jeep back on the road without it. Glad to be of help.
