    RUST

Thats why when ever i get a new vehicle the first thing I do is gold plate it. Ain't had one rust on me yet.
  3. There's something in the throttle body or linkage that's sticking. Remove the linkage at the throttle body. Now start it and work the throttle by hand. See what it does. Spray everything good with PB. If you know it's not the linkage then check throttle plate.
  4. A recent scientific study has proven that when replacing a bad part a new one will last longer because it is new. A recent scientific study has proven that when replacing a bad part a used one will last longer because any bad ones have already quit but a used one that still works has proven that it's good.

    RUST

I have sweated on a piece of bare metal and watched it rust before my eyes. Another thing about sweat is being salty, it's also corrosive. Let the discussion on the differences between rust and corrosion begin. :hmm:
  6. Got everything but the Scrambler. Will a CJ or MB work?
  7. Could they have possibly been placed there by the PO to operate the latches because the handle was broke?
  8. The warranty on the piano? :rotf:
  9. If I knew where your located, might be able to help.
  10. Take a pair of tin snips and cut around it. Or if you don't want a bigger hole then weld a plug into it.
  11. In an emergency or worst case scenario I've wrapped a piece of solder around the plug and screwed it in. Rosin or acid core doesn't seem to make any difference. And I've never had one leak or give out until I was able to replace it with a correct type.
  12. Awhile back I contacted Chrysler-Jeep and offered to volunteer my services and expertise to help them build a better product. My suggestion was to let me stand at the end of the assembly line and pick out any Jeep I wanted as it came off the line. I would then take that particular vehicle home with me and drive it for one year. At the end of the year I would write up a full report of what I thought of the vehicle and suggest ways to improve it. Apparently the USPS lost the letter as I never heard back from Chrysler. :shake:
  13. Welcome. Haven't seen that style wheels and caps on a Jeep in a while. Looks nice.
  14. There's a dearth of information here on swapping a Renix 4.0 out for a HO 4.0. There is nothing on swapping 2.5's. Or maybe I just couldn't find it. I have a '94XJ with a 2.5, AX15, I'm going to swap into a '87MJ, AX4, also a 2.5. I'm planning on setting the 2 engines side by side and trading anything that looks different between them. The XJ is 4WD and the MJ is 2WD which is why I'm not swapping trannys also. Surely this has been done B4. Anyone got any links or tips on this? TNX, Jim
  15. Vacuum disconnects sucks. :shake:
  16. Got me curious now as to when the switch over was. All the Jeeps i got in the yard with 2.8 has the V belts. All the S10 with 2.8 got the serpentine.

    tire humping

So who's the babe in the background with the camera? :brows:
  18. My God. Can't believe it. She was my inspiration to learn music. Would stay up late of a night listening to the Grand Ol Opry, WSM Nashville. She's in good company, Hank Williams, Johny Cash. One of my favorite keepsakes is a autographed pic of her and me, in uniform, taken backstage at The Opry Taken in 1953. Rest in peace Kitty. We'll all miss you.
  19. I swapped the Blue interior for Maroon in my '87. Not because I didn't like the color but because it was all cracked and busted. The Maroon was like new. I have 3 MJ's and several XJ with Grey interior.

I've had this sitting in thee yard for awhile waiting it's turn. Now that the Caddys done it's next. 1942 Willys. 100% all original, no rust, rotted upholstery, Hey Ya can't have everything. Sure hope I get this done quicker than 3 years. Could this be called the MJ forerunner?
  24. 1/2X20? Damn. That's why I had to use a cheater to tighten them and had all those metal shavings when I replaced mine. :rotf:
  25. Thank you everybody for all the nice comments. I've got a lot of sweat and elbow grease, not to mention greenbacks, tied up there. Incommando. You are correct. That was a brain fart on my part. Loved the discussion on cams. Anytime you can get a dialogue going then you've succeeded, whether you agree or dis agree with any of it.
