I made a bid on it. What does ROTF mean?
-
Looked in a Team Cherokee and a Quadratech catalog. If I checked the numbers correctly these parts are for a Dana 44 for a 2006-2010 Wrangler. I don't have a Wrangler. Damn yard sales anyway. :jump:

Hey Don. Thanks for looking. They were in a Superior gears box. Looks like he had swapped out gear sets. Gonna try and check out the Superior numbers on the boxes and see what I can come up with. You could tell these were used, dirty and greasy but no wear marks or chips. Last resort will be to take a couple rear ends and check for resemblance.

You found the rear end of a MJ? :rotf:

looking for a 4 cyl 2.5l motor...
jimoshel replied to my88comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Got a couple 2.5's but I think shipping would be prohibitive. Let you decide. Got a couple cores, $50 each. Got a good running low mileage out of a '96 XJ. $500 stripped or $600 complete. -

Am I correct to assume that the gear ratio of this axle is 4.11? BINGO!

Can't swear to it but I believe every MJ or XJ that didn't have AC or PS had a idler pulley in it's place.

How do you copy a Craigs list or a EBay ad, including the pic, to CC?

Cops have a dirty job. If you've ever been at the scene of a accident where a pregnant woman went thru the windshield of a car and her belly was ripped open and you can see the heart beating of her unborn fetus laying on the hood, or examined the wreckage of a station wagon with a family of 6 all dead after being rammed head on by a drunk driver then maybe you''l understand. Anytime I'm stopped by a police officer I make it a point to call him sir and not get pissed at him. Cops are just like everybody else. There are good ones and there are bad ones. But they all deserve our respect. Unfortunately in some areas cops are nothing more than revenue agents for the local government. My 2 cents worth.

The main thing you want is for the Input, pinion and transmission output shaft lined up. Not necessarily inline, but at the same angle. http://www.hotrodhotline.com/md/html/dr ... monics.php

AMC HEI Conversion Distributors
jimoshel replied to jtdesigns's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Got to agree with Eagle on this. The HEI was a vast improvement over the old points and condenser ign system. However it can only operate on a fixed preset conditions. The computer systems can alter their output to match changes in conditions, temperature, overheating, pre ignition etc. The HEI can't. The only time I can see replacing the Renix-HO with a HEI is if your replacing the engine in a earlier model Jeep (with distributer) with one from a later model (Renix, HO ). -

I will never forget my first car. It was a 1938 Buick 4dr convertible, Twin fender mounted spares, straight 8, 3 speed with overdrive. I was 14 and fell in love with it the minute I laid eyes on it. The hood on that sucker was longer than most cars are today. The fella wanted $45 for it but after trying for an hour to get it started, with no luck, he knocked $5 off and I got it for $40. Got it home and set the points on it and it fired right off. You want a Comanche? Well get it. Go with your heart but use your head (Is that a contradiction in terms?) and learn what a wrench is for. :wrench:

What engine? For $25 I can send the complete set for a 2.5 or a 4.0. Used. -
If you have to ask......

Cherokees' are Parts vehicles. MJ's are restorers.

Originally there was a optional TV meant to be mounted there for the drivers entertainment on long or boring trips. Due to the number of accidents caused by 'driver distraction' it was removed and a dummy panel replaced it to fill the hole.

Gotta watch the TV listings closer. I would of loved to have seen it.

A Blonde In Church An Alabama pastor said to his congregation, "Someone in this congregation has spread a rumor that I belong to the Ku Klux Klan. This is a horrible lie and one which a Christian community cannot tolerate. I am embarrassed and do not intend to accept this. Now, I want the party who said this to stand and ask forgiveness from God and this Christian family." No one moved. The preacher continued, "Do you have the nerve to face me and admit this is a falsehood? Remember, you will be forgiven and in your heart you will feel glory. Now stand and confess your transgression." Again, all was quiet. Then, slowly, a drop-dead gorgeous blonde with a body that would stop a runaway train rose from the third pew. Her head was bowed and her voice quivered as she spoke, "Reverend there has been a terrible misunderstanding. I never said you were a member of the Ku Klux Klan. I simply told a couple of my friends that you were a wizard under the sheets." The preacher fell to his knees, his wife fainted, and the congregation roared. Life is Short, Smile While You still have Teeth. Give me an Amen Brother!!! :rotfl2:

What can I do with the roof?
jimoshel replied to airspeed's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Never tried it with no heat. I' take a small torch and heat the dent. Then apply the dry ice. A heat gun works better than the torch if you're trying to save the paint.
