Quadcab Comanche - Co

Has anyone figured out the rear doors? The 4dr XJ has a cut out at the lower rear for wheel well clearance. It looks like to me that he used the top half of a XJ rear door and the bottom half of a front door and welded them together. Although he could have cut off the lower back corner and welded a piece in. I sent him a email asking about any build data, pics, etc, but never got a reply. It would be nice if he belonged to another Jeep site and posted build pics. Wonder how much Bondo's on that thing. Think it would have been nice if the bed was a foot longer with a longer wheel base.I'm guessing that bed is about 4 ft. -
I got my '89 Comanche FSM with electrical supplement from EBay for $30. It's worn, dirty and dog eared but every word on every page plus all the diagrams are perfectly readable.

Not what I wanted to hear but exactly what I expected. So now the search is on for a axle shaft. Tnx Don.

When I was in Spain I was the proud owner of a 1955 Spanish Pegaso Z-102. Does that count?

There was a set of front ( I assume ) coil springs in the bed of a MJ I just drug home. I think they are for a MJ-XJ. I don't have a loose one out I can compare them with. There is a tag on one of them It has the letters, large, JG 3 times. 2 rows of smaller letters first letter indistinct ?208 2nd row 9143 Can anyone here identify them? Also there was a D44 axle assembly, judging by the spring mounts for a MJ. missing the right hand axle shaft. Are the D44-D35 axle shafts interchangeable? Any input appreciated.

That's a EFE. It is not part of a carb rebuild kit. Clean it and put it back. Also called manifold heat thingy. It doesn't use gaskets.

I just tried signing on to the CC forum from another computer. After the third failed attempt I was locked out for 13 minutes. I'm thinking something to do with oreos,,er,,cookies. So why was I unable to sign in and what can be done about it in the future? Curious minds want to know. So do dummies.

To quote that famous Hawaiian explorer, Ben Franklin " I went. I saw. I left" without the Jeep. I didn't feel it was worth the asking price and he refused to negotiate.

Beautiful looking animal. And comfy.

If it had a tach then there would be 4 gauges, 2 on each side. No tach then there are only 3 gauges on the side and a dummy. The gas gauge being the big one in the center.

'89 Cherokee will be easier to find. And will work.

I would like to know how he joined the sheet metal together. In my life I've only met one man who could weld sheet metal and it came out straight, No warps. And he was older than I was. This begs a step by step write up, with pics. Also I agree with Comanche afficionado. 4DR looks weird but they are functional. I have a good running '94XJ 2DR with title. Mix it with one of my MJ without title. Have something different and useful. Naw. Already got 123 started-unfinished projects. Don't need another one. -
Tried the 3 times off-on and the trip reset. Nothing. Every light on the dash went out and stayed dark.

I'm starting to get it and if I can get it It must have been an accident  :laughin:

Low Oil Pressure Really Low!
jimoshel replied to jeep_freek88's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Which ever has the excessive clearance. Normally the rod s wear faster than the mains but not always. It can also be the cam bearings and loose lifters. Cam bearings have the least wear in an engine so they don't go out to often. Lifters get loose in their bore they let oil leak past them. -
It is a load sensor. It should be hooked to a proportioning valve in the rear brake system. Purpose is to adjust the rear brakes for the load. Most people just removes it.

I'm looking to get in contact with an older gentleman who lives south of pueblo, kind of between Pueblo and Colorado City, that has all the jeeps in his yard. I was there previously looking for a door, but they were all busted. Now I'm looking for a center console for a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee in good shape and wanted to know if any of his are suitable. If he reads this post please email me with the directions again to your place so I will know it's actually you and not somebody playing games, or, if you know who I'm talking about and how to get in touch with him, please let me know. Thanks. Location: South of Pueblo it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests PostingID: 3296980012 Took me an hour to realize he was talking about me. The 'gentleman' threw me off. GF pointed out that the expression 'grouchy old SOB' is inappropriate for CL.

I wouldn't know a code if one bit me. Never thought about it. Can it be gotten by doing something under the dash to make the dash lights blink? or would I need a code reading machine? Also did something new today. going up the road at 30-40 mph and it acted just like the brakes were being applied. Only did it when the gearshift was in D. Not in 1 or 2. I got the dern thing to part out. just wanted the engine, but after driving it and checking everything out it's a nice Jeep. Except for the tranny. Now I'm taking it as a challenge, just to see if I can fix it or not.
