    Multitools

Wouldn't know. Every time I get a good one, i lose it.
  14. Gonna pull a 249TC and swap a 242 in it's place. Think the shaft length and spline count will be no problem. Is there anything to look out for?
  15. If I remember right One starter bolt is 13mm. the other one is 14. the two top bellhousing bolts are torx 45. The rest of the bell housing bolts are 15mm. It's been 2 days since I pulled one so the memory is kinda hazy.
  16. And don't forget the airbag and seat belt.
  17. You can drop a transmission/transfer case a couple feet onto gravel and not hurt it. If it's too high look around. You're in a junk yard. Tire, seat cushion, floor mats, radiator, AC condenser, Anything to help absorb the shock. Usually the bell housing will be stuck to the block. Sometimes by placing your foot-feet against the tail shaft you can break it loose. Be careful. Sometimes when they break loose they drop right out. Not pleasant if it lands on your foot, hand, head. A rope or chain wrapped around the tail housing and out the under back of the car. Give it a good yank. Not necessary but I have found it helps to take a couple bolts with their heads cut off, or studs screwed into the block will help keep the input shaft from binding in the clutch when it starts tilting as it comes out. Also leave the cross member attached to the tran mount. The mount will help absorb shock and help keep the trans upright.

    Warning

How come I have the line "0 warning points" under my avatar and nobody else does?
  22. I totally agree. BUY AMERICAN!. Trouble is, you just can't always do it. Right now I'm remodeling some rooms in the house. Guess what? I haven't been able to find one item I needed made in America. All Chinese. Also I would like to point out. There's a bunch of people in China. Mostly Chinese I've noticed, Right now they are prosperous, thanks to our buying their disposable crap. Prosperous people don't start wars or invade their neighbors. Poor countries do. Think Japan, 1938. Germany, 1935, Anybody here remember World War II? It's in all the history books.
  23. I have a '94 XJ with a 2.5 has a AX5 tranny. I thought they quit using The AX 5 when they came out with the AX15, although I'm thinking maybe they only used the AX5 behind the 4 cylinder.
  24. So howcome you got a reply and I didn't? Pouting,,,Metal glue? Never heard of it, Sounds like something I better check into.
  25. I've seen people around here asking $400 for D44 up to $6-800 for a D 60. They weren't getting it, Just asking A D44 will go $200-400, I've bought 2 D44 's from an XJ at the P&P. They charge $125 for a rear end regardless of what it is. If I were selling a MJ D44 I would be asking $300. Would take $200, if I liked the person.
