Is that the sort of Blue one in Castle Rock? Texas plates? I sent him a email last nite.
-
What does he want for it? If I get the truck, you got the hitch.
-
He paid for it out of his own pocket or had some 'inside friends'. The government was very firm on the policy. No pick ups at government expense. There's always a way around policies and regs if you know the strings to pull. It sounds like he may have bought it from a American dealer and had it delivered to a European dealer for pick up. Was it a 4WD? Maybe he drove it North thru Canada, across the ice pack and into Norway. Then down into whatever part of Europe he was in. I do know of one incidence where a crew chief on a C124 loaded his CJ5 onto the plane and got it into England. I also know of a incidence where a crew chief wanted to buy a sports car in England and fly it into the states but the PIC told him no. Then the PIC, a major, bought himself a nice shiny new Jaguar XK and loaded it onto the plane. Half way across the Atlantic the pilot noticed the light come on indicating the rear loading doors was being opened. He got on the deck just in time to see the grill of his shiny new car disappear behind the AC. Whatever.

Howdy Henk. Welcome to the madness. Good luck on finding what you're looking for. One of the biggest sources for American vehicles in Europe is from GI'S who had their POV shipped over. Since pick ups weren't authorized there wasn't any shipped over. Were you looking for one local? Or were you going to ship one from the states?

And the above mentioned guy is still a Pr*@k.

There's an adjusting bolt on the pwr strng bracket. Loosen it. The bolt comes out at an angle leaning towards the engine. -
Auto salvage yards in Colorado will not take a vehicle without a title. And the title must be in the sellers name. Scrap yards will. However they charge you $5 ownership check fee and they hold the carcass for 5 days while they run the VIN. If the vehicle is completely tore apart to the point where it is a pile of scrap, then they take it without any paper work. Right now auto salvage yards are paying from#150 to $500 depending on make, model, and condition. P&P yards pay a flat $400. car must be complete and with title in sellers name. Scrap is $170 a ton. complete cars scrap is $220. As of this AM

Officers get more leeway than EM. Besides I don't think he was regular. Was reserve or National Guard. -

GUNG HO! Not Gun ho. Loved the video. Thanks for sharing. -
Police, Govt agencies, Border patrol, Forest service, etc, etc, used heavy duty alternators in their Jeeps, usually XJ, Not MJ. Shouldn't be to hard to find of them or their source.

Just received some parts I ordered to fix an air compressor. That envelope they were shipped in was something else. Thought I was gonna have to go out to the shop and use the demo saw to open it. Make a car body out of it and you would have an indestructable body.

That's not a turbo. It's a siren. warning people to get the h*ll outta the way.

Don. Just parallel a couple AW4's, Split the load.

Sometimes they used a 4 cylinder to stay within class engine size. Sometimes they used a 4 cylinder because it did what they wanted it to. Don't knock it just because it's a 4 cylinder. They used 4 cylinder offenhausers for Years at Indy and look at the show they put on.

DC Power Engineering has a 270 Amp alternator. Couldn't get it to copy their info. Use Google and look it up

Did you ask the auto parts guy that ?

Just an observation. A good set of snow tires and a light foot on the gas pedal will outgo any other combo hands down. After every snow storm when I drive down the highway almost all the cars, trucks off the road are 4WD, Every car that is upside down, on it's roof is a SUV.

Had a Posi Trac on a '65 Dodge 1/2 ton. It was all over the road whenever it was slick. 400lbs of dead weight in the bed cured that.

I'm not sure. Either race prep it and run Pikes Peak next year, or sell lottery tickets to CC members at a buck a shot and then have drawing. Or just drive it and see if it attracts any chicks. :MJ 1: :D

Useful for things besides wiping the dipstick. Man and wife is getting ready for bed. He's in bed. She's doing her thing at the vanity. Her; I wish I could make my boobs bigger. Their so small. Him; Try wiping a big wad of toilet paper up and down between them a couple times a day. Her. Toilet paper? How does that work? Him. I don't know how but it sure worked for your butt. He never saw what hit him.
