  1. I just opened the bidding on it. Figure why not? That'll be the closest I ever come to getting it.
  2. There seems to be some confusion as to whether this has been done or not. I have tried extensive searches and cannot find anything on it. Having several units I feel like playing around and see if it can be done and what it would curtail. I do not wish to go over a subject if it has already been covered. If any body can offer any help on where to look or any other details , please do.
  3. :agree: That's the way I do it.
  4. My little bro went to the auto parts store. He didn't say which one. Asked for a water pump. The guy looked at him with a straight face and told him that they didn't stock those. He would have to go to a farm and ranch supply store.

    Jeep Pick Up

Many, many years ago when I was but a tiny tot, I would stand along side the street and watch the covered wagons,,,er,,I mean watch the cars and trucks go by. One day a shiny new Jeep truck went by. I was impressed. I swore then and there that one day I would own one. Today that dream came true. 1990 MJ, 4.0, 5spd, 87K, Gave a 2.5 engine and $400 for it.
  6. Tell her that you can't buy her a ring because your Jeep needs a new engine. Give you some clue as to what your future will be like.
  7. As long as we're displaying our aircraft lore here,,, What's your guess as to what the cockpit front end is from? I'm guessing C-82, C119. C 123 or a C130. I'm picking it's a C-119
  8. I stand corrected and it ticks me off. I knew that. Don't know why I called it a Heinkel. Aw well!
  9. Brain numb from the terrific displays? Thanks for sharing. Jim
  10. That 'stupid German airplane' is a Heinkel.111.
  11. That black round thing in the front (on the Crosley ) isn't a starter. It's a generator. Also they were air cooled engines. No coolant. That round thing in front was the muffler. The flex tubing is the exhaust pipe leading from the exhaust manifold to the muffler.
  12. Reckon I'll just keep my J20 for another 30 years for heavy haulin and the MJ for running around duty.
  13. Cut it out. All of it. Get replacement panels from the donor.

    Et Tu Brutus?

HOLY CRIPES... Caesars' dead. Was wondering why I haven't heard from him in a couple years. Seems a couple dastardly miscreants did him in, apparently by puncturing his rotunda. Gotta check my Grays' Anatomy. Not sure just what part of the body the rotunda is. :hmm:

SHEESH.....Poor loser. Wonder if I couldn't pack a pair of regular lites. Sell them to Shelby for $500, Peel some chrome off an old bumper and add to the box. Tell him they were good when they left here but the rough handling in shipment vibrated all the chrome off.? Naw!!!!

Reckon I'll keep them. Want the back of my truck to look pretty too. I got 4 '86's and 3 '87'S. None of them has the chrome. I got a dozen of them clocks. None works. If you want one I'll give it to ya for shipping. However I want a working one. Getting ready set up a test fixture on the bench and see if i can't fix a couple. We'll see.

Does it have to be the chrome ones? Would a regular pair do?

Rob, Understand what your saying. Jim
  20. So how did you get the line off? The one behind the reservoir going to the slave. I'm sure it can be done but it just seemed much simpler to just get the thing out of the way.

Went back to the P&P today. Wanted to get the D44 and interior. Somebody beat me to it. That was fast. 1987 MJ Laredo, Immaculate Maroon interior. Somebody got the buckets so I just left it.If I ever find out who the SOB was that junked that MJ, I guarantee you he will never father a child during the rest of his life span. Went to another JY a couple miles away. Had a little luck there.
  22. Correct on both counts. This was probably the only time in the last ten years i hit a JY without my toolbox. Went to town for something else and just stopped in on a impulse. Eagle is looking for a shield and thought I'd check them out. I don't normally deal with them. No tools to pull the D44 and borrowed a Phillips so I could get the TL and dash.
  23. Just finished swapping the clutch master cylinder. There was some fluid leakage but I think I caught it before any damage. Question. Has anybody removed-installed this cylinder without having to remove the reservoir?
  24. Hit the JY this morn. 1987 MJ Laredo Long bed, 4.0, BA10. Wasn't a dent or scratch, OR RUST anywhere. What in Hell do I have to do to get the word out that i will pay more for a Comanche than the JY will? Got the tail lights and tach IP. Didn't have my camera with me. so no pics.
