  1. Don't ask!!!!!!!
  2. Appreciate all the advice. I 've done all that. Just going back over some of my earlier posts you will notice that i have successfully posted pics B4.
  3. 1. Unable to post pics. I believe thats my problem and not the systems. 2. When quoting, always get a double quote. Unable to delete or remove the second quote. 3. Unable to edit.
  4. It's done all the time. Remove the transmission support crossmember. Now there are 2 ways to go. Study it and see which way is easiest. Lower the transmission. Using a short socket with a U-joint and a long extension the upper bolts can be removed. Sometimes raising the transmission and coming in over the top of the engine with a box end will be easier. Remove the hardest to get to bolts first before removing any of the others. Remove the started before any thing else. While raising, lowering the engine check for interference between fan blade- radiator and any sensors, wires to firewall, fender wells. Make sure you have disconnected all wires, fluid lines before dropping tranny. Use your eyes and common sense.
  5. That was PB that I was using.

  7. How do you post a pic? After over 45 minutes of trying that is all i could come up with. Was hoping it could be done without using PB.
  8. Just as soon as her legs are long enough to reach the clutch pedal she will be the proud owner of a bright Red '86 MJ.
  9. Be nice if you were a little closer. I'd really like to give you a hand on that truck. Lookin' good.

    Strange Hate.

Just the ignorant trying to impress you with their lack of smarts, or bitter jealously because they know you got something better than they got.

    Oil change

I have always changed my own oil, filters and greased it. Many years back I was in a hurry for some reason and took my J10 to Grease Monkey for a oil change and lube. When I got it home I crawled under and took a look. Not one grease fitting had been touched. When I was through with the manager he was probably wishing he had never seen or heard of me or my Jeep. Needless to say that was the last time I left any servicing to anybody but me.
  14. Yes. Can you hustle? Use search, projects.
  15. Getting ready to pull the busted 2.8 from the '86 MJ, 5spd, 4WD. I was going to drop a 3.4 in but the cheapest one I could find was $400. I already have a good running low mileage 2.8 from a '91 S10. so just going to run with it. Should I use the Chevy flywheel or the MJ flywheel? Kind of wondering about the balance thing .
  16. After every major snow storm we have 90% of the cars and trucks in the ditch are 4WD and over half of them are on their roof with all 4 wheels in the air. A good set of snow tires, even in Alabama, and common sense will drive circles around a 4WD and a idiot.

  20. Took me over an hour and 3 tries before I could access anything. Refused to recognize my password. We'll see.
  21. but this is ridiculous. Was out tinkering with the DD, '87MJ, 2.5, 4spd and checked the oil. Down a qt. When I change the oil I tear the lid off the filter box and write the date and mileage on it and put it in the glove box. So I got the lid out to see if it needed a change before I added a qt. The info on the lid showed I had changed the oil at 190,457. Checked the odometer. 230,337. I used a qt of oil in 40,000 miles. Was thinking that's not too bad and it dawned on me. 40 thou? No way. Sitting in the drivers seat listening to a Johnny Cash tape, yes, cassette, not CD wracking my brain trying to figure out whats going on here. Took me 10-15 minutes finally remembered. Last spring I swapped the idiot light cluster for gauges and tach, AND a higher reading odometer. Ah well. Just goes with the territory. So I added a qt and all is well. Just rambling. :rotfl2: .
