Got the old bar pins out and put them in my new nitro shocks with a little help from my grinder! :wrench: Got all my control arms the length they should be at..thanks to hornbrods post here http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... =2&t=29966  Made another hardline for the rear and called it a day Just ground down both sides on one end a hair to help slide into the new bushing easier My friend bought a hitch for his Cherokee and gave me his old rear bumper brackets so I can do a little something like this except on the front of the bed

Dirteatr717 replied to 89Tonto's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Hornbrod you are the man! I spent over 2 hours today putting in my control arms time after time trying to dial them in and I'm still not done! Looks like tomorrow will be my last time taking those frigging things out my my truck for a while THANK YOU!!!! :wavey: -
If you haven't had any advancements in your relationship she may be waiting for you to make the next step and from what I've read about your situation I'd finish up what you have to do for your shop, find another job and continue working for company you do now as a safety net.... Yes you'll be away from your lady for a little whole longer bur explain to her how it'll be better for the both of you if you both have solid ground to stand on.... Just my opinion! Good luck with your endeavor -Nick

project Old Rusty (new panel welded in)
Dirteatr717 replied to MancheKid86's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
That bedside came out awesome dude! Keep it up maybe it'll motivate me to do some metal work after my lift! Keep it up! -
Got most of the front lift parts in today by myself! :wrench: such a pain in the rear but I'm happy the hard work is over with.... Just have to adjust all my control arms and bleed the brakes, I spent over an hour this morning trying to get a socket out of the frame rail! It fell in when I was taking out the upper control arm bolt ad the socket fell all the way down to the crossmember and disappeared on me... After using coat hangers and magnets and screwdrivers I whipped out the air hose and sprayed inside every hole I could to see if I could hear it moving somewhere in there. I gave up and ate lunch when I came back I look in the lower control arm hole and it's sitting there staring at me  don't know how it fell all the way down into there but I got lucky getting that one out... I didn't get so lucky on the other side the 15mm is still in the frame rail somewhere  and as promised pictures!

XJ off the shelf LA kits
Dirteatr717 replied to xjrev10's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm ordering the Clayton LA upgrade when I gather up the dough, I've heard only good things about it and from what I've seen in person it's a great kit for the price.... I wouldn't go with rough country because of the tc drop and the tranny mount bolts are unprotected! -
Can't wait for the hidden winch to be made up and you do fantastic work! Can't wait to see it all shiny!
-
I never thought I would bother doing anything like that but when your with a bunch of buddies who are showing off it happens  I actually did crawl up until that point in 4low and 1st then backed off before anything bad happened! Hopefully tomorrow I'll have more stuff to take pictures of, I'm putting the front lift in and redoing some more hadd break lines in the rear... Know of any places to get stock manche shackles? I have to lower the rear some it's too high!

After wrestling with my truck by myself for a few hours to get the soa done I called in some friends and I finished the rear lift yesterday! It's sitting at about 7" of lift :grrrr: I was hoping for like 5.5-6.5 I'll have to find some stock length shackles and do that at a later date.. I also put a 95 Dakota brakeline in and it's about 4 inches longer and I'm going to move the mount like lead-not-follow did... Also put all new hardlines in! Here's some pics from yesterday, couldn't get too many but I got enough

lift and tire setup thread
Dirteatr717 replied to 89eliminator's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Here's 2" budget boost and 235s And here's same lift with 33s on a 15x8 rim, it's working fine as a daily driver except for the 3.07s and hills in 5th gear :ack: -
Got my perches, ubolts need to be returned... The thread doesn't go down far enough if I measured everything correctly and my shocks came in this morning!! Still waiting for the fronts to come in but today I should hopefully be putting the truck under the knife! Here's the rear parts I'll get pics of all my front stuff later :waving:

I've seen it too in my friends Facebook pictures :brows:
-
I have the poly black bushings in there, I wouldn't of used wd40 on rubber I've see what it does to a bouncy ball in a cup of wd40 :ack:
-
Whenever it was dry out my truck squeaked at the frame-shackle bolt... I just kept soaking it with wd40 until it stopped! Haven't heard it in months haha :clapping:
-
Got mine off jegs in the mopar section! They were 12 dollars!!!!!

SOA options.DIY CHEAP
Dirteatr717 replied to coon.hunter_21's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
2wd leafs are flatter therefor giving you less lift... If you really want to stay at 4.5 mix Cherokee leafs in with your leaf pack and use a shorter perch.... -
If youve done a SOA can you please post pics for those of us who have yet to do it or are trying to figure out how to set it up :waving: Thanks -Nick p.s. I'm currently in the middle of doing mine, I plan on using MJ shock mounts on top of the perch and sandwiching it between the leafs.... adam from Motion Offroad confirmed you would need shocks in the 3-4.5" lift range or 17" collasped and about 29" extended

Got mine in mail yesterday! Wahooo thanks again :jump: -Nick
