  1. The check is done on the signal wire and the sensor ground wire (or chassis ground alternatively), do not probe the 5v supply wire. Ensure the connector is solid on the sensor and that the actuator lever from the throttle is engaging the sensor. If no change in voltage occurs when you rotate the throttle plate, you have a defective TPS. I went through this exact sensor failure on my XJ just yesterday.
  2. I rolled-on some liner on my scout floor and it came out fantastic, but there was a lot of prep performed prior to application. Preparation is key no matter what method you choose to apply the coating. As Pete says, closely follow the instructions on the container and the results shall bring you happiness.
  3. ^^This right here^^
  4. My fleet consists of older vehicles and when I moved to the deep south, A/C was a must so I invested a lil bit of dough in tooling to make my own hoses. Almost all my hoopties have A/C now ranging from '68 to mid '80s. I understand this ain't for everyone but know that making a refrigerant hose is not that difficult...carry on.
  5. This is winning right here... This is winning right here...
  6. Nice and simple one there...that could mounted on a rack I reckon.
  7. I might be headed that way actually Pete, looking at a bed rack too for my RTT but I wanted to see what the folks here did with a big spare tire. I think I like the swing out ones the most...
  8. Thanks PCO6, that's a good setup there.
  9. Haha, that's where my spare 31" is rn, but ima go big like 35s and it will not fit there...
  10. Show me your tire carrier setup!
  11. Dude, them flares are sexy, deets?
  12. Sounds like a perfect fit as opposed to a tight fit I reckon, I'd send it...
  13. I've noticed that all hoses have to be hooked up to the proper port or the whole "system" gets screwed up, even only one hose with a leak will make my 2.8 run like crap. I've always considered swapping in a Weber or whatever aftermarket carb there is but the damned thing just keeps truckin along. Mine has the Federal emission control stuff and that valve you mentioned is not equipped either. If I were you, I'd make an effort to keep it all where it goes for best performance but then again, 2.8s suck nonetheless...
  14. That device is neat for the flash patterns, but it's not required to accomplish integration of the XJ brake/turn circuit. I reckon an XJ uses one bulb for brake light and another for turn signal as opposed to the MJ using one dual-filament bulb for those functions. All one has to do is properly merge the circuit conductors of both harnesses, unless that device makes it easier to accomplish the goal at hand...
  15. I have this stuff off my 86, but I think I have a NP207, same thing??
  16. If you know for sure there is no fuel delivery/pressure but you hear the pump operate, it's time to pull the pump out and inspect it. My XJ did something similar to your situation, one day it just wouldn't start but I could hear the pump operate and a fuel pressure gauge at the rail port read zero pressure. The issue was a clogged fuel pump strainer, 5 bucks and a few beers later the XJ was back in business...
  17. I have all CAD components I removed up for grabs...
  18. I'm sure you've done some online searching on this, I will eventually LS swap my MJ and found some info stating that the GM F body exhaust manifolds may work, check that out...
  19. That looks exactly like the one I bought except mine is a V-belt pulley setup...
  20. I did a very cheap conversion on my MJ, I bought a reman compressor from ebay without any lube, I replaced all o-rings with PAG compatible ones, thoroughly flushed the system. I then put in the required amount of PAG, R134 refrigerant charge minus 15% of the amount recommended for the original type. The system works surprisingly well and blows ice cold air out the vents, this is much improved with the (Volvo) electric cooling fan swap I performed on it.
  21. All for y'all to install a kill switch on your hoopty, but don't give no details on how/where it is...
  22. I'll take the red one if it is still available, holler...
  23. I learned today that my MJ has factory tow mirrors
  24. 8.8 over the D35 all day long...
