Pete, there are adapters out there to make it "easy", I know I know, adapters are "evil", but this can be done right with correct installation and the mandated inspection and maintenance. Or, I'll come get them free tires off your hands you just smile and wave haha! XD Carry on...

I have bought plenty of untitled vehicles and successfully got them registered. Usually if the vehicle was last registered in the state you live in, the process is very easy, your local DMV/MVD can give you all the guidance. A VIN check by the local PD and a surety bond may have to be filed as well and will bring up all history/discrepancies with the vehicle...

But, you don't want to buy some cool shiny new ones? You already scored the tires ya know...

indeed Metal Cloak coils are awesome, I run 'em on the JK and eventually a set will make it into the MJ.

I thought ZJs used them wheels, no? I scored a free set a while back and believe have your specs, I'm too far to verify this though...

I remember I was told I will need to make some measurements on the rear for some custom length arms once the rear brackets are set up, and yes, fuel tank will need removed but all this is no issue for me, fun winter project it is...I could keep leaves at the aft but I have witnessed some awesomeness on some XJs in the field with this setup and I want that. Hey, nothing is perfect-do what you want-enjoy the ride!

Yeah man I also looked at those retailers you mention and emailed them all asking for detailed info but the only one that replied was Ironman so... I'm also planning on welding some frame stiffeners on when I get to install the long arms, along with some bumpers...gonna drop some dough on this here 'manche!

As if it's bolt in? Supposedly, but we'll see once I order and receive. I may be moving to a different house this December, I may wait and order then and hopefully have a garage to get this installed in...

That is mostly the tweaking needed for this to work on MJs and addressed by Ironman4x4fab, they were made aware that this was to be going into a Comanche...

Does a light coat of WD40/liquid wrench count as anti-seize?

I found it while inspecting the rotor in the dizzy.

My 'burb did this exact thing you describe in the first post, the culprit was a broken reluctor in the dizzy, have a close look in there...

I bought a rusty 01 XJ (from Cleveland, OH) to do the 97+ swap on my MJ with similar damage such as on your truck, but I have decided to tackle all involved in repairing it performing a complete unibody "frame" upgrade as I go...long project ahead.

If it's a short drive, go for it and while you're rolling, persuade the lever to move back to 2HI...you might get lucky.

Glad to hear you found a source, I'm a fan of drum brakes even though they do not get much love and everyone wants to go with rear discs...properly maintained/adjusted drum setups perform great and you can usually overhaul the whole axle brake system for cheap, you got this Ditch!
