  1. It is external slave cylinder, but extremely "fun" to replace! I wondered why the previous owner made a "door" on the floor hump at the passenger side, until the slave failed me, haha!
  2. Dudes, are these the correct items to upgrade my MJ's steering?
  3. OP, I have the same truck you describe, minus the Cali emissions. The 2.8L is gutless compared to an LS and yes, it can be a crappy motor if not taken care of, these engines are not hardy and blow up quickly if abused. I keep mine well tuned and it takes me there and back ok, occasional wheeling is ok too, but it is a dog in sand unless you keep the RPMs up. I too am gathering all necessary parts for a V8 swap but for me this process is slow...good luck.
  4. Show, a squeal is making you consider an engine swap?
  5. exactamente...
  6. that is not a resistor, it's a diode...
  7. Check your ignition switch for a good crank signal to your starter/relay, a test light is your friend here...
  8. Intermittent cranking is usually caused by dirty or worn contacts in the starter solenoid and/or relay, as well as loose/corroded connections. Go over every terminal in the starting circuit, once you ensure all connections are solid but the issue persists, starter/relay dissection should follow...
  9. That's nice man!
  10. If you have assistance, have someone crank the vehicle, at the same time tap on the bottom of the fuel tank. This usually wakes up a failing pump and your truck will run again, but the pump still needs replacement.
  11. While cranking, is there spark and injector pulse? Does the fuel pump stay on as well?
  12. OP, the yellow lead needs to be fatter, maybe use a piece off the excess wire by the rad? There's always room for improvement with Jeep's 100% pure perfect quality...
  13. Since the rear suspension is SUA, removing a leaf would add lift, right?
  14. nice work man, keep on keeping on...
  15. 20 bucks for a full cluster?? I'll take it!!!
  16. SSBC kits are there, but pricey. Check this out>> http://www.fsjnetwork.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13864
  17. Will do.
  18. So it's not a POS?
  19. If the exhaust system is gone, so is the O2 sensor...
  20. Ha! I thought the AMC 20 was a POS axle. Well, according to the internet...I will replace my 4.10 geared AMC 20 for an 8.8, so I think it will be up for grabs...
  21. Windshield is definitely leaking, I will address first before the floor gets attention.
  22. It's amazing how long these T-cases live without fluid in them, dealt with this many a time when I was wrenching-for-a-living. Most of the time, replacing the seals and refilling would get them back on the road. A few times we saw some over heated bearings but never a catastrophic failure, but then again, most were pavement queens...
