  1. So my 'manche is in need of an MC replacement but I want to upgrade to the WJ MC and booster. I want to procure all new parts and avoid the JY items but I have no idea what year WJ parts to order, if someone can share this info it would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'd like to retain the rear height compensating system if possible, or must I eliminate it with the upgrade? Thanks.
  2. I acquired a similar kit for my 86er a couple years ago and it is still going strong, I highly recommend you flush everything very well before the new stuff gets put in, cheers...
  3. damn, mines the newer one...
  4. Alright, the adjustable track bar I have is branded Rough Country, I'm gonna check and see if I can get a bracket for it or just fab one up. The manche will by no means be a rock crawler, but I want it lifted and will run 31" mudders on steelies for now, maybe 33" rubber later on once I find a boneyard deal front axle with 4.10s. I like driving this thing on the tarmac too (work commute w/cold A/C) so I want it behaving well enough on longer rides, especially the trips to the dunes, approximately 85mi/140km. Keep the tips coming gents, how about some sway bar disconnects, what do y'all run?
  5. Thanks for the link, I checked it out and noticed that there are some metal braces and a track bar bracket that are usually bought together, do I need those as well?
  6. Are there any that suck and I should avoid or any brand will do?
  7. Great input Gents! I reckon I need me some brackets...
  8. The Core arms are designed to handle up to 8 inches of lift supposedly, guess we'll see how that pans out in the near future...
  9. So I am almost done with the acquisition of all components to lift the manche, all I lack is spring perches for the 8.8 to go SOA and some front sway bar discos. I'd love some input with the arms I got from Core 4x4, I went with their tier 3 set and they are sexy and beefy. Is anyone running these, and if so, how great/awful are they? Also, I kinda want to make my own SB discos but would like some ideas, holler.
  10. that's gnarly, but, did you make you some deer tacos? :D
  11. Nicely done, thanks!
  12. will do this very soon myself and am wondering, does one use the parking brake cables on the Furd axle or a set needs to be purchased?
  13. 4 firm applications of the brakes did the trick on my oldie but goodie, but still haven't figured out what caused the light illumination in the first place. The brakes are flawless, maybe just a fluke...
  14. I could take some pics of the PS set up on my 2.8L if you still need some, holler...
  15. For all the involved work, blood, sweat and tears with your upcoming swap, I would definitely recommend injection even if it's TBI. LSx would definitely be the way to go for your power swap but since you already have what you have, by all means install that, it will make it easy to upgrade in the future to the efficient LS you really need...you got this!
  16. spray cleaner, let completely dry, put together, refill with adequate lube, drink beer and enjoy a job well done!
  17. Haha! I don't know if they will be able to jump that high... :rotfl2:
  18. If your 12v constant, 12v ignition and ground are good, your radios are bad...
  19. If mine has gauges already, do I still need to replace the senders if I get a newer tach equipped cluster? What is the newest cluster I can swap into the 'manche?
  20. Sub'd, I've been looking for a tach as well...
  21. Well?
  22. My 4WD 'manche has that same drive shaft with the rubber, I had it balanced recently because mine too had a similar vibration issue as in your case. This problem was dramatically reduced with the balance job but not 100% eradicated, guess I'm due a new drive shaft...
  23. JoeLAW and REEDracing94, how about that valve rod, y'all still have one?
  24. how much? I'm at 88012
  25. I would like to have a working tach on my instrument cluster on my 86 2.8L Comanche, thanks.
