GeorgiaJeeper93's '86 MJ Build
mysteed replied to GeorgiaJeeper93's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
If you're set on 31's then a simple budget boost (coil spacer in the front and chevy s10 lowering shackle in the rear) should be plenty for you unless you plan on running larger tires in the future. -
Looks good! Are you going to trim the fender liners to help clear the tires?

Welcome to the forum. Where in GA are you located? -
What he did is he probably ran the last 8 digits of your VIN, not the entire thing.

Great looking MJ! That's the perfect sized lift/tire combo out there I think.
-
Great looking MJ! What did you end up doing with the factory rear bumper?

Wow, that's a great deal for the WJ upgrade. I'll be going to snag that stuff soon as well. -
WJ Knuckle/Brake Upgrade (2WD)

Great choice on going to the WJ brakes in the front I have heard only positive reviews from the guys that use them. What JY do you frequent and how much did the last round of parts set you back? -
I was wondering how long it would be till you made a build thread. Great starting point!

Great build thread! How difficult was the 4wd conversion? -
How much did the new headliner set you back? Mine needs replacement as well since it is covered in cigarette burns.

Summit Racing sells both the plain black Fey bumper and the chrome bumper. Remember that with the Fey bumper you will need to also purchase the mounting kit. Aftermarket taillights on a Comanche?
mysteed replied to DirtyJeepGuy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I believe I remember that there was a member on here who adapted JK tail lights but I never saw pics. You can make pretty much anything work if you're willing to put in the time and effort. -

Great build. Any further plans for the truck? -
Great build, very impressive and obviously a lot of thought has gone into it thus far.

33x10.5x15 BFG All-Terrain T/A KO Tires
mysteed replied to HOrnbrod's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I am running a 32" tire with a 2" lift and I did have to do a little trimming on the front fender liners (front and rear). A 3" lift with a 32" tire should clear the fender liners. -
Thanks for the tip, they seem like a good group from what I read. Unfortunately they require you to have 4wd before joining the group and I still have 2wd.

I'm in the Woodstock area. Does anyone know any good offroading trails in the area?
