  1. Who's going to make the custom rear axle for you?
  2. :Canadaflag: Commonly called the Moody Blues where I'm from Harum Procol made a VERY nice bunch of "progressive rock" stuff I see several of their songs posted on Utube. My turn:And if you fall for her lies In a while you will find You can dance, you can sing Like a puppet on a string But you ain't in control Of a single thing Changed my mind (it was too easy) Added bonus music: http://www.geocities.com/trooperlyrics/title.htm Guess which song was well known in the US during the '80s as a theme song?
  3. It's all in the harness that goes through the firewall and the computer mounts above the gas pedal. It plugs into the main harness the same as the 2.8 V6 does afaik.
  4. They might not have a dist, but the hole is there (they cut the dist down to just a cam sensor) They DO have sparkplugs under each one of those coils!
  5. I would swap the whole harness from a Renix TBI rig as the computer has to go under the dash (it's not waterproof like '91 and up)
  6. Found this on Craig's list http://phoenix.craigslist.org/car/483689675.html Image Not Found 1987 Jeep Cherokee Custom 4x4 4.0 Reply to: (see message body) Date: 2007-11-19, 12:05PM 1987 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 Automatic 4.0 liter with 187,000. It has a 6 inch lift with 5 brand new 32" tires and has a 92 rear axle. The head and exhaust are less than a year old and the engine seals and brakes have been completely redone. I have added a Hummer hood grill as well as a Hummer front end, Hummer brush guard, Hummer bumper, safari rack, and military antenna. I have another antenna for the installed CB system as well. I took out the interior panels to put in a sun roof but I didn't and I have all of the parts except the headliner which was coming down anyway. I am asking 4500.00 OBO. You can call me at 602-435-7508 * This item has been posted by-owner. * Location: Mesa
  7. All the news said was "they are likely to start fires"
  8. Red Sovine is pretty good too (I still tear up just thinking about Teddy Bear's last ride)
  9. I have 3 AX-5s here that disagree! (one from my '86 MJ, one from the '85 XJ 2dr I'm parting and one in the '85 XJ my son just bought back from the guy I sold it to)
  10. This happened on a flight getting ready to depart for New Orleans. Jack was sitting on the plane when a guy took the seat beside him. The guy was an emotional wreck, pale, hands shaking, moaning in fear. "What's the matter?" Jack asked. "I've been transferred to New Orleans, there's crazy people there. They've got lots of shootings, gangs, race riots, drugs, poor public schools, and the highest crime rate." Jack replied, "I've lived in New Orleans all my life. It's not as bad as the media says. Find a nice home, go to work, mind your own business, enroll your kids in a nice private school. It's as safe a place as anywhere in the world." The guy relaxed and stopped shaking and said, "Oh, thank you. I've been worried to death. But if you live there and say it's OK, I'll take your word for it. What do you do for a living?" "Me?" said Jack. "I'm a tail gunner on a Budweiser truck." Image Not Found
  11. a few things changed on the front of the motor (water pump and intake) but the bell is the same. Sensors changed (on the trans and tcase as well as the engine) so watch out for that!
  12. I have no tcase in my MJ(yet) but the 4x4 and shift light keep coming on and blinking!
  13. Word of warning! The replacement bearing is for the 2wd rigs only! The hub can only be disassembled with a press.
  14. Did he find you a D20 adapter? The stock ones break VERY easy. The Borg is okay as long as the chain isn't stretched (mine was so bad my truck could roll 12" back and forth in park!) and Dana 20 is fairly tough. If the TH400 acts up at all, give it a can of STP engine oil treatment (did mine back in '01 when it wouldn't even shift into drive!) 5 lug wheels mean closed knuckle on the pickups (Wagoneers got a couple years of open knuckle D30 or D44 front with 5 lug and drum brakes) I put a J20 axle in mine and flipped the rear shackle (you just need a longer set of shocks and angle shims for the diff to align the driveshaft) lightned the pic a little Image Not Found Here's my old one (before I rolled it) working as usual. 15. I'm still tempted to put the 304 from my rolled '73 J4000 into the '86 MJ I have kicking around (it's already promised to someone for $600 though)
  16. There was a blonde who found herself sitting next to a Lawyer on an airplane. The lawyer just kept bugging the blonde wanting her to play a game of intelligence. Finally, the lawyer offered her 10 to 1 odds, and said every time the blonde could not answer one of his questions, she owed him $5, but every time he could not answer hers, he'd give her $50.00. The lawyer figured he could not lose, and the blonde reluctantly accepted. The lawyer first asked, "What is the distance between the Earth and the nearest star?" Without saying a word the blonde handed him $5. then the blonde asked, "What goes up a hill with 3 legs and comes back down the hill with 4 legs?" Well, the lawyer looked puzzled. He took several hours, looking up everything he could on his laptop and even placing numerous air-to-ground phone calls trying to find the answer. Finally, angry and frustrated, he gave up and paid the blonde $50.00 The blonde put the $50 into her purse without comment, but the lawyer insisted, "What is the answer to your question?" Without saying a word, the blonde handed him $5
  17. Somehow I knew that was coming! Why men aren't advice column writers: Dear Ted, I hope you can help me here. The other day I set off for work leaving my husband in the house watching the TV as usual. I hadn't gone more than a mile down the road when my engine conked out and the car shuddered to a halt. I walked back home to get my husband's help. When I got home I couldn't believe my eyes. He was in the bedroom with a neighbor lady making mad passionate love to her. I am 32, my husband is 34, and we have been married for twelve years. When I confronted him, he tried to make out that he went into the back yard and heard a lady scream, had come to her rescue but found her unconscious. He'd carried the woman back to our house, laid her in bed, and began CPR. When she awoke she immediately began thanking him and kissing him and he was attempting to break free when I came back. But when I asked him why neither of them had any clothes on, he broke down and admitted that he'd been having an affair for the past six months. I told him to stop or I would leave him. He was let go from his job six months ago and he says he has been feeling increasingly depressed and worthless. I love him very much, but ever since I gave him the ultimatum he has become increasingly distant. I don't feel I can get through to him anymore. Can you please help? Sincerely, Susie Fox Dear Susie, A car stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of faults. Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line. If it is clear, check the clips holding the vacuum lines onto the inlet manifold for air leaks. If none of these approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the carburetor float chamber. I hope this helps. Ted
  18. so what was in the bag?
  19. Oring from the oil filter to block adapter is another leaky place.

  21. My son is in Abbotsford and moving to Chilliwack (with both his MJs)
  22. Make sure of the motor when you get it! The 4.3L doesn't have the same bell pattern!
  23. I bypassed a bad fuse in my panel by removing the wires from the backside and putting in an inline fuse.
  24. Not all AX5s are external. I have seen 3 so far that were internal (my son has one)
  25. TJ (Rubicon) got AW4 as an option in '03. The 4 cyl used AW4 after '87 (different bell and converter) Toyota also used the same trans (To do a diesel swap I just need a motor with auto trans bell, converter, controller harness and computer then make mounts) 999 was used in YJs and TJs (Mopar 3 speed auto) and all years except '93 Grand Cherokees (with 4.0L) which got the AW4 and highest fuel economy of all JGCs. The best way to swap is to get the harness from the same year MJ or XJ with auto. (It bolts in easiest)
