  1. Nuh uh! The Jtrucks are MINE! (I have 4 already)
  2. What about a 2 dr XJ cut at the B pillar and grafted to the front of an MJ? I have one I wanted to do that with. It's getting the blue tip wrench taken to it next week for scrap.

    Booya.

Do you know how Canada got named? We took our 3 wisest men and had them all pull a letter from a hat. C, eh? N, eh? D, eh?
  4. We're talking CJ here.
  5. It could be corroded at the fuse, and cutting power when the lights draw. Kind of like a loose battery terminal works till you hit the start switch, then it cuts off till you let go of the key.
  6. There aren't any '85 MJs!
  7. What about the TJ YJ setup?
  8. Lincoln towncar and Aerostar ones are cheap.
  9. howzabout a clogged cat? Mine went from 70 to 15 mph when mine finally died.
  10. Mine won't do better than 20 mpg with 4.10s. The MPG dropped to 15 when I tried and the truck lost all bottom end power for takeoff. It felt like it couldn't get oit of it's own way! Remember mine is 3.07 originally, and with a quick check, 3.73 with 33" tires is the same equivalent ratio as stock tires with 3.07. Add some HO injectors and your rig will have some balls again!
  11. Boo hoo hoo! My only friend is Tom!' http://www.myspace.com/carnuck
  12. Pre '83 is the GM 4 cyl.
  13. Another auto swap option is a CJ 4 cyl belled 904 which they build up with SBCs because that 2.5 Iron Duke has the same pattern.
  14. Check the hose on the MAP sensor. When the rubber was cracked in mine it did that. Also, if the Orings in the TBI unit are leaking, gas goes down waaay too fast!
  15. If I didn't have a million and one other things to do, the 304 from my rolled '73 J4000 would be under the hood of the '86 I have. Already sold the truck so I have to get the 4 banger back into it and have it running by Nov 15th.
  16. I have 33/9.50/15s on stock rims with an SOA, BA 10/5 (still haven't got the tcase in yet) and 3.73 axles. It acts just like it did 100,000 miles ago with stock tires and 3.07 gears. Hauls @$$, gets nearly 20 mpg loaded (gets 20 mpg w/o the canopy) and I just used it to move my '70 IH 5 ton in the yard (clutch is nearly fried already so I didn't have much to lose. Pull started the big brute and my MJ is still drivable!)
  17. At least you can slap a Jeep NP208J (or AM) onto it!
  18. Image Not Found Here's my set up on the AX15 with the Partsmike ring. (It comes from Advance Adapter)
  19. I ran a filter can on the end of the hose in my house. Caught all the fuzzy stuff and a lot of the moisture too.
  20. I paid $500 for my MJ and have @$1500 total into it. Zook parts are expensive around here and hard to find!
  21. I like Jeep and Toyotas. Jeep rhymes with cheap and they are around here. I've killed several Yodas (one spectacular one at 110 mph when a rod let go and ventilated the hood!) but no Jeep motors to the point they didn't make it home (several with thrown rods that kept on driving!) a$$holes are like this. You either have one or you have 2 if you are one as well. Most fun I've seen on a Toyota lately is the "Toyota Research Development Offroad" sticker. Who doesn't laugh when they see TRD Offroad? Jeep has $#!& the bed in the past 10 years or so with lame designs and the killing off of what people really want to stretch into the POS they think people want.
  22. Yeah. Me.
  23. you need to find the oring kit to make it happen.
  24. The 208 will bolt directly to a 3 speed auto, but needs the spacer for AX-15 and 23 spline AW4. http://partsmike.com has the spacer. I just got one for the AW4 I swapped in place of the T5 in my '83 J10.
  25. One other one not on the list is the AMC Model 20, but it's round.
