  1. I mean...Elon did SAY that it would be divisive and "not for everyone", and I think that's proven accurate. My wife thinks it's horrific, I think it's interesting...not amazing, but not as bad as a lot of people make it out to be. It'll be interesting to see if it shakes up other aspects of the truck industry as they are doing some wild changes to the traditional light-duty truck formula.
  2. Ouch! Glad you're ok and looking forward to seeing your journey in fixing up the MJ!
  3. Looking good!
  4. Rylee, you are like a marketplace master haha. Looking forward to more details on this build as it progresses!
  5. F-body pump fits narrow and mid spacing...2010 camaro pump fits truck spacing but puts one of the connections for the hose potentially on the wrong side (depending on your radiator). The build looks great! I'm excited to see this continue to progress! :)
  6. Honestly, you might want to limit scope when starting out on this project. Get the lift/tires done first and get all the other systems working before going after the V8 swap because the V8 swap will strain all those other systems. The V8 swap is not as simple as it usually reads out to be. Our jeeps are uncommon and the XJ/MJ platform are usually not owned by people with a bunch of money (those with money, usually go after the wranglers). For wranglers, there's a lot of shops that have it down to a formula for a v8 swap. For XJ/MJ's, it's different...not only is the aftermarket much thinner, but we have some unique challenges with our wide and short engine compartment. There's a lot of custom fab and mix-match of parts involved no matter what you end up with there. Even then, a good shop will take a few months to get it all done (that's assuming they spend a lot of time getting it done quickly and not having to wait around for parts much). That's not even talking about the bill...you're probably looking at well over 100 hours of time to do all of it right (not counting the parts), and any decent shop is going to run at least $100/hr, so...there's that. Most of the other guys on here have the time to invest, and the skills to fab the things they need, so it ends up being a lot cheaper for them, but when you pay a shop, you're looking at a large bill at the end. This is the route I took due to time constraints with a new baby and a wrecked daily and I still ended up spending a bunch of time doing research and grabbing parts ahead of time so that the shop didn't have to wait or order things. All of that is not to discourage you from it, but to ensure that you go in eyes wide open. This is not an endeavor for the faint of heart (or wallet), but if you go for it, keep us posted! We love seeing builds no matter how they happen. :)
  7. There's some good info for the wiring on the AW4 linked here: http://www.radesignsproducts.com/tech.html While it's not a wiring diagram, it should give you anything you need to do a standalone or manually controlled AW4.
  8. I'm super curious how the ORIs handle on-road and off-road for our trucks! How are they working?
  9. Nice! Did you get the wiring all done?
  10. It's a lazier way to mark a thread for notifications. You can click the "Follow" link at the top (which doesn't make any notifications), but you can also reply to a thread and it defaults to setting the thread to follow as well (there's a "notify me of replies" option at the bottom of the reply thing and it's default is "on").
  11. That's awesome! Really makes the interior look new!
  12. Also, check out stuff on the RA Designs website. He has some good stuff about how it works and what some of the wires do in the tech section. http://www.radesignsproducts.com/tech.html (scroll down to the Tech Paper for the AW4 link)
  13. Took the wiper arms and wipers off of my wrecked 01 XJ and swapped them onto the 91 MJ.
  14. I stand corrected...thanks for adding all the detail @DirtyComanche :)
  15. Welcome! Definitely get the VIN into the registry and that'll give you even more detail on what you likely have and will help with direction on what to do :)
  16. Looks awesome! Just needs more pictures!
  17. Leaf spring suspension doesn't have to worry about the axle swinging in an arc in line with the trac bar. Linked front suspension (with a trac bar) means the steering arm needs to arc in the same pattern as the trac bar. If it's different, you get bump steer. If it looks like it lines up from an angle perspective (trac bar and steering arm in parallel), then you should be relatively fine.
  18. If you do get a welder and aren't confident, you can get it all measured up, level, and tacked in place...just enough to hold it during transport, then take it to a friend or any welding place to finish burning it in. I like the ruff-stuff perches, myself. :)
  19. Honestly, I think every MJ owner is probably used to getting extra attention, so stopping and knocking to ask about the truck isn't too weird.
  20. Thanks!! Hopefully it's just as simple for you as it was for me. :)
  21. Thanks guys! Last night, a transmission line came off at the trans cooler... I got home and got it fixed and found that the Lokar transmission tube has a TINY opening that none of my funnels fit (and none from the local parts stores either). So I ordered their special "funnel adapter". Not sure I'd go this route again, had I known this. I DID find out that my interior b-pillar lights work though! I just need to figure out how to get them to stay in their holes in the b-pillars. Anyone know if there's a special clip I need to get? or if there's some kind of trick to it? Also...no video yet. Finding dedicated time to do a video while there is daylight is a lot harder that I thought it would be. Hopefully soon though!
  22. If you do, please post up the pics for it installed. I've been thinking about this for a while (my wife's car has me a bit hooked on android auto) and was starting to give up because I want something that looks really clean.
  23. I got my 4 switch panel on ebay...since the ebay app gives $5 off every so often, it makes it really cheap.
  24. Wow, that looks really good!!
