1991 Jeep Comanche Eliminator
thecodemonk replied to JordanTMiller's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
It sounds like you've already gotten $30 of joy and excitement out of it. Money well spent in my book. :) -
My recent playlist is probably a bit more...niche than most. I've been enjoying this band a lot lately.

1991 Jeep Comanche Eliminator
thecodemonk replied to JordanTMiller's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Looking good man! -
Yeah, mine was similar, just a different angle. Sounds like it's time to hit the junkyards for some XJ roof rails!
-
I mean...that's usually the problem in everything haha.
-
Newer style is like this, at an angle.
-
Does this only work with the older XJ roof rack rails? or does it work with the newer ones too?
-
To be fair, people have been doing that to each other over any form of texts. Case-in-point: Twitter.

Right. It was the response to those asking if they should rebel against the government by skipping taxes (they were seeking to trap him and find a way to report him up to get rid of him). Specifically: Then the Pharisees went and plotted how they might entangle Him in His talk. And they sent to Him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that You are true, and teach the way of God in truth; nor do You care about anyone, for You do not regard the person of men. Tell us, therefore, what do You think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?” Matthew 22:15-17 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/mat.22.15-17.NKJV He essentially said: yes. Pay your taxes and also tithe (as required by Jewish law). But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, “Why do you test Me, you hypocrites? Show Me the tax money.” So they brought Him a denarius. And He said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?” They said to Him, “Caesar’s.” And He said to them, “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” Matthew 22:18-21 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/mat.22.18-21.NKJV The whole conversation together shows what what He is saying and is essential. There are other verses later in the new testament that also supports the general idea of obeying the government with the caveat that Christians are to push back only when God's word says otherwise specifically (the idea being that God's word supercedes the government's laws for the Christian). Stay at home orders do not explicitly stop the ability for Christians to practice, but does require Christians to think a bit outside of the box to continue gathering or being in community with each other and most churches are adapting just fine (with online groups and such). The relatively few groups shown in the news being dumb give the rest of us a bad name, sadly. The preachers who just want to do what they want regardless of the consequences or alignment with God's word and think that God will protect their selfishness are a type of person spoken of in the Bible too...and not in a positive way. That pastor clearly didn't know his scripture. The Bible is very clear about obeying the government so long as it doesn't contradict God's higher authority on the few important things. I mean...Jesus Himself said to pay taxes. Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk

You're not alone. I have two, apart from the fridge. Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk

It doesn't take long...an hour or so can be enough. Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk

Speedometer might be off too. On a 4wd there's a gear you can swap out, but I'm not sure where that is on a 2wd. Maybe the trans tail housing? Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk

There's a protest planned for Olympia, WA tomorrow, apparently. Otherwise, all is well here. /shrug Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk

Trying to decide Renix or HO
thecodemonk replied to pizzaman09's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
If maintained, both are good. Both have different issues but there are easy fixes for it. The HO will have a few more HP. I wouldn't rule either out if you have a solid truck around it. Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk -
Nothing as cool as what y'all are going, but I assembled a bike trailer for my daughter to ride in and I got started on her sandbox. Once I get the truck back, I'll go get some sand to put in there (after I attach the bottom liner).

Based on your description, it may be for the A/C pump (when to engage the clutch when you want A/C but also to disconnect the AC clutch at high RPMs to prevent over-running it).

89 4x4 Comanche 4.0L Transfer Case?
thecodemonk replied to jrisner's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If it were up here in WA, $1500 is a fair price for something like that, assuming it runs and drives otherwise. Just know you're getting into a project and there's likely more wrong with it than you think. - t-case replacement is easy. Some bolts, some bloody knuckles, and a lot of grunting. Any XJ t-case matted to a transmission of the same spline count as you have should bolt right up. Bleepinjeep youtube has some good videos for pulling, installing, and even rebuilding a t-case that should steer you in the right direction and were useful for me and a NP231 t-case rebuild is about as easy as it gets for rebuilding anything on a vehicle. - If there's body rust, I'm guessing there's floor rust...expect to replace/repair the floor pans. Almost everything from the back of the doors forward is interchangeable with XJs with only a few caveats. B-pillar to the back is all unique though. -
It's like a TV series...always with the teasers. :)
