  1. Wheel size is is irrelevant; its the overall tire size you need to worry about.. IIRC a 30" tire will fit with no suspension mods.
  2. That could be chin, armpit, or underboob sweat.
  3. I like the XJ conversion van's bumper treatments.
  4. There's a dating site for farmers now? What do they use- 'hey baby, wanna shuck my corn?' or 'I wanna plow your field' as pick up lines? ;) /not an expert at farming/cows/sheep or their culture.
  5. In addition to mud, if those tires/wheels/whatevers take enough fire it will cause balance issues too as bits are shot away. Regarding HMMWVs aren't they obsolete with the recent introduction of the MRAP in the field?
  6. Like THIS kind, THIS kind or THIS kind that looks like it should be on the front of Lord Humongous' ride from The Road Warrior? Don't really know what your definition of 'crazy expensive' is, so no help there.
  7. How old is the window? Maybe there is enough of a gap on the seal/felt where the sliding window(s) meets the non-sliding windows?

    Movie 43

I read the 'plot' and reviews on Wikipedia... looks like I'll be missing this one.
  9. Not to threadjack, but adding louvers will allow rain, snow, or water from misaligned sprinklers and roof runoff from storms into the engine compartment... would this not potentially cause damage to various components/systems under the hood, or would it not matter?
  10. Nice looking rig. Welcome.
  11. XJ 1" lift shackles will give 1/2" lift on an MJ.
  12. Threw in some Osram Silverstars and aligned the headlights.
  13. To make a short story long, on Christmas Eve, my SO and I went last-minute Christmas shopping in her Ford Escape. At the end of our journey we stopped at a Rite Aid [yuck] for odds n ends. Coming out of the store and starting the car, we had the driver's side Sylvania Silverstar Ultra H4 headlight burn out. After getting back to the house, I replaced both bulbs [at 9pm on Christmas Eve] with the stock H4 bulbs that were in the rig originally from the factory. The following day we were returning form a relative's place with my SO and girls and night fell, only to discover how weak an dim the original bulbs were in comparison to the Sylvania Silverstar Ultras. I had decided to get a new set of bulbs that put more light on the road but didn't want to spend $45-$50 on another set of Ultras. Doing some research on alternatives, I ran across a lot of choices [Philips, El Cheapos, Hella, other Sylvanias, etc.] but settled on a set of Osram Silverstar H4 bulbs. Now, I know Osram and Sylvania are a single company, but it appears Sylvania is the name used in North America, and Osram is used in Europe... they also carry different bulbs under similar names for different markets. I picked the Osram bulbs up from Ebay shipped for about $25. Fast forward to yesterday. The headlights arrived and I installed the 55/60w H4 Osram Silverstar bulbs in the Escape. Easy plug n play. After night fell I took the Ford for a spin and HOLY COW these things were BRIGHT and WHITE. I kept thinking I had left my high beams on as I drove but hadn't. I wasn't flashed by any oncoming traffic on my 20 minute test drive. After getting back to the house, I put the one good Sylvania Silverstar Ultra bulb back in for comparison, and it appears just as white but not as bright as the Osram bulb. The Sylvania bulb is larger and has a blue tint to the lens whereas the Osram is a smaller bulb with clear glass, both dual-filament as an H4 should be. After reinstalling the Osram I called it a night. So, how this relates to MJs is as such: I have Hella H4 headlights with the Hella 55/60w bulbs that came with them. I intend to pick up another set of these Osram Silverstars to put in my MJ, but am pondering the following two questions: as the headlight switch/harness could melt or destroy itself when used with high powered bulbs [ex: fatboy 100w bulbs], would it be prudent to upgrade the wiring harness [such as with the Putco harness] prior to installing the new Osrams, or would it be safe to use as they are rated to draw 55/60w? Would upgrading the harness cause the headlights to burn brighter, causing them to burn out faster? For reference, the packaging for the Osrams I picked up can be found HERE. Freakin' awesome bulb.
  14. I see nothing wrong with this ad, other than one headlight isn't straight. A more common problem than you'd think.
  15. Who knew the R in Michele R Obama stood for Romulan?
  16. It sure is good for removing sticker adhesive off the outside of laptops. Works awesome. I keep a 'travel' size can for just this purpose.
  17. :agree: go with the OME.
  18. First thing I thought of too- the green Motion MJ.
  19. That's a nice dusting you got. No school closing for that amount around here.
  20. Indeed; another part of the equation.

What is the smoke coming out from behind the rear tire on the graphic? Wrong side for the exhaust... could it be a D35 giving up the ghost?
  22. The larger tires which weigh more than stock size is more unsprung weight which has to be moved, geared or not. Greater weight for tires equates to slower acceleration and more energy used to keep it rotating at a constant speed [ex: 55mph]... it is easier to spin something lighter vs something heavier. This is will affect your fuel economy as you will be burning more fuel to get moving and to keep moving. For example, during the summer I run Silverstars with 235/70/16 all season tires, and in the winter I run Gamblers with LT235/75/15 studded snow tires. The Gamblers and snow tires weigh half again what the Silverstars and all season tires weigh and I feel an immediate drop in acceleration and response, and my fuel economy drops from 20 mpg down to 17 mpg in the winter. The summer tires and winter tires are the same rotational diameter yet yield different results due to the weight involved. Also, the Silverstars weigh less than the Gamblers despite a larger diameter, and are also an inch narrower.
  23. For feedback on the above referenced tailgate decal, I have had it on for two years and still looks like new. High quality.
  24. Why not watermark the photos that you don't want stolen prior to uploading them? Regarding the CL ad, I'm sure the guy is just demonstrating a similar vehicle's capability as mentioned above... its obviously not the same truck as the rest of the images.
