if I upgrade to the 17 inch moab wheels. Do I need to install a lift for clearance in the wheel wells? I have a 91 stock eliminator it is a 2 wheel drive for now but will not be hopefully soon.

I have searched a lot of threads about this conversion. My question is can I keep existing engine? I am looking at an 98 xj with bad motor. Can I just swap harness and sensors? Thanks in advance.

I was the first buyer.... and yes deal did fall through. I will not comment on why, but many have stated some very good points. Over 4k is a VERY big number for this truck, I thought my bid was alot.

Yeah XJ is an auto. Would I be looking at a VSS versus mechanical speedo? What other sensors are there? Sorry for being a newb.

I am doing the same project. Can I use trans/ t-case/ axles from an 01 XJ without any issues? I have a 91 auto as well.

Will a 97+ trans, trasfer and axles work or does it need entire drivetrain conversion?

Hello all. I will hopefully be joining the ranks of MJ owners in the morning. I am looking at a 91 Elim 2wd auto. A couple of q's out of the bag. What years will work to convert to 4wd? Do I need rear axle too? Any tips when I get it home (first things to check) or even when inspecting. I have owned a few XJ's but want an MJ. Here's a link to the posting for truck.
