  4. Once they were started the 'flashforwards' instead of the 'flashbacks' things started to get a little weird.
  5. The highway is, sadly, closed. ODOT is working on resurfacing the western half currently and will close the road for construction from Sisters to the observatory after July 4th. Its expected to be reopened August 15th. Pics from a trip last year in the Escape:
  6. Indeed I do. The most recent season it seems the writers are just trying to stretch the series as far as they possibly can.
  7. Would the LED bulbs that plug in to the original socket cause the signals to flash far more quickly than before due to the lower voltage requirements of the LED vs incandescent? My understanding is resistors required for normal signal function do not usually come with the cheap LEDs at A-Z.
  8. Two weeks ago I put on a set of beefy Rocky Road 1" lift shackles on. Now, during regular driving, the rear end feels far looser than what was previously experienced while any load is in the bed. During installation I reused the original leaf spring bushings that have been on the vehicle for 20+ years. Everything fit all nice and snug with one exception. The RR shackles are 1/4" wider than the leaf spring with bushings. I believe this is causing the rear to feel loose, as the original bushings are moderately squishy. So, with the combination of squishy bushings and the gap, what is the best course of action to tighten up the handling? Install spacers between the leaf and the shackle, or install poly leaf spring bushings? I trust I am not the only individual who has experienced a similar situation with aftermarket lift shackle such as this. Suggestions?
  9. Indeed. Colorado certianly has high Oregon beat for mountains, except Eastern Colorado... it so... Kansas-like. ;) The century old Highway 242/Old McKenzie Highway which connects Central Oregon to Eugene/Springfield is open, on average, only four months a year due to snow. Excellent twisty road due to hairpins if you have a sporty vehicle.
  10. So, my GF and I were taking some of the back roads and old logging trails around the Central Oregon Cascades this evening in the Escape. We found our way to a Three Creeks Lake (where we go bald eagle spotting in late summer) near Sisters, and as we approached the campsite at the end of the 16 mile long road (of which 11 miles is paved with rough old asphalt), we encoutered snow. Not falling, but unmelted snow on the ground. Five feet of it. County crews must have been out recently in the past day or two to create a path to the campground only half a mile beyond the roadblock. Pic at 10 pm with high beams on. Yes, its difficult to see the wet red cinder on the ground of which the 'road' is made. Elevation: 6500' Half of the campground is still blocked with snow. Some parts are over 8 feet still, but the lake is free of ice.
  11. Thanks! Oregon title states 1987. H in the 10th position on the VIN confirms indeed 1987: 1JXXXXXXXHT001663. :thumbsup: What is not shown, however is the dent on the drivers' side. The guy I purchased it from was stationed at Ellsworth AFB and it was struck while parked.
  12. Hi all, I'm Jeff and I reside in Central Oregon. I picked up my Comanche in 07. Its a base model and performed these mild modifications: 1" Rocky Road lift kit Painted and sealed the tail lights (as seen in pic below, so no more faded crappy looking lights for me!) Installed chrome Cherokee grille and light bezels. Put on Cherokee Limited mesh wheels. ...and that's it! (I also have 3 other cars to worry about, that's why) You can see the tail lenses in this pic of haulin' girls around the forest after camping. There's cougars sighted nearby we found out later. Old nasty steelies: Limited wheels and 1" lift on front prior to rear being tackled: And yes, it does indeed have pink pinstripes, 80's brushstroke graphic, and a matching pink/black '2.5L Low Output' decal on the tailgate.
  13. Hi all, just joined in the fun. Lots of great info here. Purchased my Comanche in 2007 for $400 off of the local Craigslist. 1987 base model, 158k, 2wd, 2.5, 4sp, 1" Rocky Road lift, chrome grille and light bezels, slim offroad lights bolted to the front bumper, painted and sealed tail lights, pink pinstripes on buttercup yellow, and power nothing. When first purchased: With Cherokee Limited wheels and 1" lift on front, prior to doing the rear: Haulin' kids around the forest a few weeks ago near the Three Sisters in Central Oregon:
