  1. I should be there, not sure yet if I will be in the MJ or the XJ though.
  2. Did some measuring and it looks like an AX15 swap would fix everything, with the Dakota bell the AX15 looks like it would sit in the exact same spot as it would in a 4.0l truck. This would open up LA options. I was going to build around an AX5 for now, but now I'm thinking I may do my trans swap first since I have most of the parts already.
  3. 93 will have the bigger .75" input so it will need a different pilot. And as Pete said it shouldnt be external slave, ive heard of late 93s having it but never seen one, typically its 94+.
  4. If RE comes back and says their crossmember works you might contact Andy at Ironman,IIRC he builds his LA kit around the RE crossmember.
  5. I was looking at that kit a few days ago, they use shorter arms then most LA kits which puts the mounts in front of the stock crossmember on a 4.0l rig. This would put the arm mounts basically were the stock 4cyl crossmember goes so that would need addressed, it also looks like there may be interference issues with the upper arm and the t case. That atleast looked to be the case with the particular RK 3 link I was looking at. I'm fortunate enough to have two MJs sitting at my shop right now with 3 link kits (RK/Clayton) so Ive been taking notes for my 3 link crossmember.
  6. I don't know of any direct bolt on kits (havent looked much either),but any radius arm kit could probably be made to fit fairly easy. 3 and 4 link kits will be harder to fit since the T case sits where most kits want the upper arm to go. On mine I'm building my own kit.
  7. Ive been punishing my AX4 for years, just keeps on going. I have almost everything for the AX15 swap but for now I think I'm gonna swap in an AX5 so I can have a 5th gear for my 5.38 gears then do the AX15 later on..
  8. Didnt get anything done on my MJ but the new wheels came in for my brothers MJ so we mounted one up.
  9. I did this to a buddies YJ as a joke, it looked a little depressed sitting there.
  10. I snapped a pic of the axle bridges I was working on, they will hold the upper control arm and be the base for the rest of the truss. We have several builds going so I made a couple, one is a Clayton and the other two were made from scratch.
  11. I see this alot on the jeep pages on Facebook, usually kids doin it. Some paint them but it seems that alot are using black tape.
  12. Today I cut down the housing on the D44 to make room for the new mounts, I also made the bridge over the diff so I can mount the upper control arm. I also started gutting the brakes on the D60 for the disc brake swap. I'm getting close to having the axles under the truck.
  13. Finally ditched the roller lead, I made a hawse to replace them. I also made a set of poly motor mounts, I get a lttle more vibration but the engine doesnt move at all and the throttle response is awesome. I also did some measuring and started coming up with a plan for the 3 link.
  14. Depends on the locker, if you get a full case 29 spline locker you should only need the shafts. If you go with a lunch box locker you will need a carrier for a 29 spline axle.

  16. You could do a true 3 link. My brother has the Clayton 3 link, its pretty nice.
  17. Barnes, ruffstuff, and Ballistic are my main go to places for builder parts.
  18. Thats the route I took for my D60, I went with Ruffstuff because I caught them on sale but they are basically the same thing Barnes sells.
  19. The only issue you might have is the fluid reservoir and the factory air box/intake tube. The 4cyl uses pretty much the same pump as the 4.0l but with a remote reservoir.
  20. Picked up my new steering set up and trac bar. 1.5" .250 DOM Also got some work done on the axles.
  21. Originally I pulled the pump setup off a 2.5l XJ and and used the steering box out of a 4.0l XJ. Later on I swapped the pump for a 4.0l pump. Everything was bolt on, all I had to do was change the depth on the pulley.
  22. I ran 33s with 4.88s and a 2.5l. It did pretty well, I could tell the truck was happier with 4.88 and 31s though. Right now I'm in the precess of going to 5.38s and 35s. I did run for quite a while on 3.55s and 33s, it was terrible but it did go down the road.
  23. That would be a good trans to use, the 4.0l XJ clutch parts won't work with the 2.5l.
