  1. ZJs were also low pinion, IIRC.I would just rebuild the one you just bought. You'll need a bearing, a seal, a crush sleeve, and a pinion nut. If that doesn't work out, you can always buy another axle later, but you already know that 3.73 isn't a common gear ratio. That's correct. Low pinion. Remember LP 30s where used in wranglers too!
  2. Both my MJs have windshields for "97 Jeep Cherokee XJ" -and the rubber seal
  3. 3.73 was common in ZJs. Swap the shafts out to the u-joint style (or keep the cv style) and run it. $150 for a used axle, 500ish to rebuild the one you have.
  4. I'd preheat a bit... 200-300'degrees. Weld and post heat once or twice. Or if possible bury in sand.
  5. Being you still have that MMT sticker, come up Friday before the Iron Rock event and run the MMT with a few of us!
  6. He would be fine with any half ton truck or suburban with 5k. A WK Hemi can tow over 7k.
  7. I'd like to think a warn m8000 or a Warn vr8000 is a budget winch. Usually if you need a winch, you NEED a winch. Why chance on it? This is my opinion. Yes they are twice the price, but it will be the last winch you'll have to buy..
  8. Only widening of the trains tunnel would be using a wrangler trains and you'd have to smash a small spot for the t case to clear. Very simple cave man type $#!&.
  9. Nothing a little sandblast and some fancy black paint can't fix Don! LOL
  10. Definitely 2 different shock mounting plates..
  11. Seems pretty cheap for them!
  12. I have a set sitting on my bench. $30 shipped. They will need a little sandblast and paint.
  13. I have one too. $20 plus the ride.... Probably around $30 in a flat rate box. Pm if interested.
  14. I also have a bellhousing and shift fork off of a external slave ax15 I'd sell. I'd do $150 shipped anywhere in the 48. Pm if interested.
  15. Careful what you wish for. (Think Cherokee)
  16. Congrats Bo!
  17. I cut my floor when I did my nv3550 swap and core shifter install. Maybe 1/2" or so for clearance
  18. Cell phone option was the most expensive option!
  19. Oofda... Well.. 38 XJs to date from 84-2001 examples. I don't regret selling any cuz there's always another around to buy! 7 MJs... Own 88 and 89/91. '76 CJ 5 360, 5 speed, glass tub... More issues then I could count '83 CJ 8 l6 5-speed. CJ.. Issues go with the program CJ-10a. Shoulda kept it.. 2 2005 WK Hemis. Currently have one. 2014 JKU 2014 Patriot 03 WJ 01 reg cab cummins 03 reg cab cummins still have 2 08 quad cabs '12 CCSB '14 CCSB still have I like my cummins trucks just as much as my jeeps!
  20. Pre-Bled setup. Bolt in and go.
  21. Why would you admit that...
  22. I remove the t case because I have found it easier to bench press the trans back into the jeep then to deal with a jack. Also, jacking up the rear higher then the front makes transmission install easier.

    2015 Jeep

We had a '14 for a couple years. It is what it is. A cheap budget vehicle. Clunky and noisy. Good in the snow and decent mileage. I'd never buy another one though.
  24. Pretty straight forward. I always remove the t case first. Then the e12 torx bolts on the very top. Replace those with real bolt when you put it back together.
