You guys are no fun. Rob L. :(
  2. Looking good! I hate to be a negative nancy here, but with all the attention the truck got, those wheels look a tad... Well... forgotten. Any plans for the rolling stock? Rob L.
  3. Nice MJ... Call me crazy, but didn't you already have a build thread or am I nuts... I specifically remember the corner guards.... Rob L.
  4. I think your truck is too old to tell by the VIN. You are better off using the body code tag on the firewall on the drivers side. It will have a paint code. I know a few members on here have the code breakdown. Rob L.
  5. Best of luck Bo! Rob L.
  6. Looks good. Like Brent said though, its all in prep. I did my '91 Elim when I had it, and it turned out really good. Spent a bunch of time on prep, but in the end, it started flaking a year later... Rob L.
  7. Novels are ok, as long as there are pics for summation... ;) Rob L. :D
  8. Anyone have any pics of the old "Wildernest" topper? Pete? Rob L.
  9. Always good to hear a happy ending. I am sure the company appreciates it. I have always gone out of my way to pump up a good transaction/experience I have had. I even went as far as to call back my cable company, and speak to the manager about how pleased I was with the operator. I have always heard good things about AA, but through friends of friends... But its nice to hear it from a member. Rob L.
  10. Deep Purple : Highway star It was used as the intro to "Rock Band" On PS2... I like the video they made out of it. That, and the first car they are on looks like a BA plymouth. A good truck song is "Cowboy Cadillac" By Garth Brooks "If it's a mountain She can crawl it, If it's hay Then she can haul it, She's the last one to call it a day Every cowboy loves her Lord, they all dream of her Oh brother, don't they all react At the end of the evening When they see my leaving With my cowboy Cadillac She's the perfect picture Of the perfect mixture Tween a woman and fine machine She's a hard work lover A real tough mother She's the cover of a magazine And I'm happy knowin' That what keeps me goin' Is what's gonna keep me comin' back She's my honkin' tonkin' Everything I'm wantin' Cowboy Cadillac" Rob L.
  11. He's a member on here also... Can't remember his name for the life of me. He has a build thread. Rob L.
  12. Someone will have to help me out here with a link, but there is a really sweet done up MJ with a custom slide in on some "expedition" website that was floating around on here... Rob L.
  13. OH! And welcome to the club! Rob L.
  14. Price seems a little high for the problems you state. I will have to let the other guys from your area to chime in (since they will be more accurate for your area), but around here, if it were me, a fair price for would be no more than $1000 with a decent body. And believe me, take a good look at that one. Camo paint jobs aren't just for hiding in the woods, they hide crap body work pretty decent too. Rob L.
  15. WHERE DID YOU GET THAT PAINT?!?!? That is the exact color that I am looking for to repaint my '90, which originally came in a dark gray metallic. Thanks in advance! Rob L.
  16. Ouch! I would take that back immediately, and complain. That amount of force and hammering is excessive. They make ball joint presses for that. Not the BFH in the bottom drawer. Keep us posted. Rob L.

So how's august looking for everyone? Maybe the beginning for a M N G? Rob L. :dunno:
  18. Well, besides the 3 MJ's, I currently have a '98 Grand Cherokee Limited as my DD. Its been a great Jeep, and by far, the cleanest/nicest vehicle I have owned. I bought it after being re-struck with the jeep bug. Picked it up from this shady used car lot, where weeks prior I had taken a test drive with a V6 Dakota I was tossing around getting... I took it out, and beat the pants off it, like I do any vehicle I think about getting (if its going to break, I want it to happen before I buy it). Halfway back to the dealer, I floored it, heard a POW! and the oil light came on. I blew a rod, you could hear it knocking. I pulled back in, and was yelled at to turn it off, and he popped the hood. He took a look at the oil, said, "It just needs a change, how about we throw in an oil change, and you pick it up tomorrow?" Yeah right. After looking for awhile for a 4.0L ZJ, I found this one at his lot... It was super clean, just over 100K, fully loaded, and looked to have lead a pampered life. After the drive of its life ;) , it passed the test, and I walked out with it for just under 4K. Still going strong, and doing well. '98 Grand Cherokee Limited 4.0L HO, 130K 42RE 4 speed auto NP249 AWD, NP242 Full time waiting D30/D35 3.73's, axle swap after catastrophic front axle fail Torch Red Exterior, Dark Slate interior (Black) 2" Rubicon Express Budget boost 30X9.5" Goodyear Wrangler GSA's AR 757's, Baked, blasted, Powdered Flowmaster 40 Ripoff Junkyard picked K&N Black brush guard waiting in the basement bought it off a guy who found it in a dealer backroom, never installed since '99. NIB. Heated leather, climate control, sunroof, radio controls in the steering wheel, keyless, memory seats/presets/mirrors... 8) I love me a nice ZJ. Rob L.
  19. Just as simple as that. I am going to be rolling progress on my utility truck, and since it might have the plow on it come winter, I have kinda tossed the idea of the 6" lift from RE... and am thinking about shopping for a 4.5. I would just like to get some ideas, pics, and input before continuing. I like the BDS 4.5" Long arm kit, but it seems a tad pricey. Short arm/long arm, I just want some visuals and input. Thanks guys, Rob L.
  20. Horse walks into a bar, bartender says, "Why the long face?" Bahahahahahahaha. Rob L. :peek:
  21. Always been a fan of those wheels Paul, good choice. Are you going to body color match the flairs? Rob L.
  22. Talk about luck there... None of us even thought about the pedal itself flexing/cracking and not letting the full force be transferred. Talk about a lucky break! Good to hear you have it on the run. Rob L.
  23. The best thing to do, if you want to add some leaves, is to find a vehicle with the same, or greater arch than an MJ. As is NOT an XJ. XJ leaves are flatter, and will net nothing, and support little. What I would look for is another truck or suv with good arch, and SUA, like the explorer, I believe. Use those as the leaf pack minus eyes. As for the 4.5" lift, and SOA idea, I like that. Fix your springs, or get some MJ springs, and do the SOA to match the front. Keep the spring perch height to a minimum, and check it as you go. I think that this is the best idea for you. Rob L.
  24. It might... But I would really suggest getting a scan tool in there, it will tell you a lot. If I were you, and its tossing codes for a "shorted" o2 sensor, I would do a pin out test, find the pins on the ECM, and do a continuity test, to check for opens and high resistance from the ECM to the pigtail (Should be zero to 10 ohms). Then check for any unwanted voltage (with both ends unplugged, anything but zero is bad.) Then check for ground in the harness with both ends unplugged. Rob L.
  25. It will run in open loop (without o2) until it times out, or see's that its reached operating temp, I am not sure of which the ECM does in '96. Sounds like a shorted o2. How are you sure the wires are ok? Did you pin out the ECM connector and check for short to ground, short to power, cross short, or open/high resistance? '96 Should be OBD II, and very helpful with a scan tool. I would get my hands on one, and check the o2 sensor outputs in the beginning, and when it occurs. It will also tell you whether it is in closed or open loop. Rob L.
