AC parts ID - PO Conversion
Strokermjcomanche replied to Skorpyo's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
When I worked parts , occasionally we'd get a vehicle that had an aftermarket part like yours . We would call the A/C companies like Four Seasons and give them the dimensions and thread fitting sizes/ placement and they would give us a replacement part number . Good luck in your search , unless you go with having new hoses made , which wouldn't be a bad idea if your hoses are crumbling . -

While volunteering at the local Butler Jeep event this weekend ( Bantam Jeep Heritage festival) I figured I'd go check out the used and new jeep part vendors . One guy had boxes of jeep parts brand new in the box , some of the parts include , seat recliner handle , garnet seatbelt cover , 4.0 TPS , bellcrank for the throttle, power steering pressure hose , door locks , part catalog and dealer price books for 1988 . Now for the good stuff , Marchal 750 fog covers , MJ specific AMC branded splash guards and a NOS fuel sending unit 83503419/ 83504485

Truck Vibrates During Braking
Strokermjcomanche replied to Xdt's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
What are the rear brakes like ? -
That's great! And the truck is looking really good. What's next for it?Thanks . Not really sure exactly what I'm going to do right now , I have a whole bunch of ideas and only want to build it once . Things I know I want to do : Lizard skin the floor Paint some areas ( if not the whole truck ) because the paint is worn off in areas and I don't want it to rust Get the A/C working Install the FM modulator so I can use my iPod etc Install a good exhaust / header That's all I can think of at the moment ...
-
So I took the truck on its maiden voyage yesterday , drove it around town for several hours with no issues (yet lol) . I have to get the 37 tooth speedometer gear for it so I don't have to use my GPS . Also been working on getting it all cleaned up for Bantam next week . It's not finished by any means , but it's to a point where I can enjoy it a little .

93 Cherokee
Strokermjcomanche replied to Strokermjcomanche's topic in Member Projects: Other Cool Stuff
So my moms husband called me today and wants me to do some side work for him . He has a 1964 tbird that he's restoring for a couple doctors and he needs the drivetrain removed so the body can be sent out for media blasting . While the body is gone he wants to dress and freshen the motor along with upgrading the brake system for better stopping power . So in payment / trade he agreed to do the bodywork and paint for free , which is good trade in my eyes . If I spray automotive paint anymore ( with a respirator) it's difficult to breathe for several days . And a big thanks to Neohic ( Ben ) for coming through with some factory grey floor mats in great shape , they will look great in the Cherokee .... -

Street Comanche #16
Strokermjcomanche replied to Goatman's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If you have all the pieces , does it looks like they can be glued back together ? There are some good products out there ( lord fusor , 3m ) that will hold without cracking . Then if you wanted to , put some fiberglass mesh for added strength . -
-AN fittings on stock sending unit?
Strokermjcomanche replied to xjustinx's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Because if it isn't broke don't fix it . The OP doesn't want to ruin the good sending unit by cutting it up, so I'm answering in regards to that . The ends of the lines are mushroomed on the sending unit to keep the rubber hose on once its hose clamped on preventing any steel adapter from sliding on . Not to mention if the sending unit was rotted out ( the only reason I see that it would need to be replaced ) the lines would be weak and not hold up to soldering anyhow . -
-AN fittings on stock sending unit?
Strokermjcomanche replied to xjustinx's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
There is no raised portion on the lines coming out of the sending unit that the plastic clip will hold onto. Just out of curiosity, why are you wanting to change to those fittings ? I've never had one leak before...
