  1. Not for the 91/92. I have had good luck with this 91 digital reproduction FSM:http://www.ebay.com/itm/1991-Jeep-Cherokee-Comanche-Wrangler-Shop-Service-Repair-Manual-CD-Factory-OEM-/230818320537?pt=Motors_Manuals_Literature&hash=item35bdd81099&vxp=mtr
  2. It seems a lot of guys like the WJ brake conversion. I have never driven a rig with WJ brakes so I cannot comment. I would suggest looking into these two options. Black Magic pads and Centric rotors: http://shop.blackmagicbrakes.com/Front-Black-Magic-Pads-with-Centric-Zinc-Plated-Front-Calipers-477-14258021-14258022.htm Or the Vanco big brake kit: http://shop.blackmagicbrakes.com/VANCO-15-Big-Brake-Kit-w-BMB-Pads-Fits-97-06-Jeep-TJ-LJ-VANCO-15.htm I have the Vanco kit on my TJ and my father has the BM pads and Centric rotors on his. Both resulted in major braking improvements.
  3. Wow. Wow, wow, wow.
  4. I too have heard you can swap the axle shaft to get a one piece. Not sure on the cost as I have never looked into it. The unit bearing on the ram is like the Jeep. They tend to wear out faster with large tires (usually if you are going full width, a 37 is a small tire) and they cost a whole lot more to replace vs the bearings in a traditional hub. I have seen guys running ram axles with good luck. You don't see it too much because for the same $$$ you can buy a Ford or GM axle that is easier to work on and cheaper to build.
  5. Folks tend to stay away from the Dodge front axles due to the CAD (not as simple to lock as Jeep) and the unit bearings.

    Which Gps?

I have to agree with Rob. The pre installed Google navigation on smartphones works quite well. The big plus with using the smartphone as a GPS is the maps are online and updated regularly. Plus, the cost is right: free. I do understand the want/desire for a pure GPS navigation unit. Prior to having a smartphone, I used a Garmin gps unit. It worked very well and never lead me astray. Granted that could be due to the fact I was using it in the metro area Garmin products are designed, tested and produced. The device still works fine today. On top of the Garmin product working well, their customer service is great. I had (still have) a handheld unit that was about 5 years old when it quit working. I contacted Garmin and shipped it to them for repair, expecting to pay for the repair. They ended up sending me a brand new replacement. That was 6 years ago and it is still working today.
  7. Warsaw? Isn't that KCPL territory? I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have a Jeep in their fleet. That is a sweet J truck!
  8. Wow. Any idea what the back story is? I assume flash flood.
  9. If you want a stock like fit and finish: http://www.autopartsnetwork.com/1992-jeep-comanche-rocker-panel/avao_EbsOmWL4
  10. Not really. I would say for every 10 LJs I see on the road, I see 1 MJ.
  11. I really like the TJ Unlimited and would like to add one to the fleet someday. Nice find! She looks like new.

    Howdy

Welcome back. Actually, all are welcome, MJ or not. Best of luck on your search. You will find that the value of these trucks have appreciated quite a bit in the past few years.

    Rock Auto

I have had good luck with RockAuto when I have ordered from them. Although, I must say, I did not see any significant savings in their parts+shipping vs my local NAPA parts+tax. Maybe I was ordering the wrong type of stuff to see the savings actually make a difference :dunno:
  14. That is great. I am glad you got that truck back on the road. I remember the scepticism of many when Phil posted his offer on the various forums.
  15. Axial SCX10 Honcho base with the MJ two piece body and XJ floor pan/interior. Started off as this wannabe Toyota: Image Not Found Body work done. Image Not Found Upgraded to an aluminum 4link front and rear. This really tightened up the truck on the rocks. Image Not Found Image Not Found As with all MJs, a few years on the trail can take its toll on the body. Image Not Found She runs well, even at 12,000 feet! Of course you have friends with an enemy truck, a Losi.... I am still running the stock Axial motor and speed control. They work great. I have custom front and rear bumper designs in the works for the truck as well. Next up will be rebuilding the axles (pinion bearings are real loose) with aluminum outters/knuckles/hubs and aluminum ring and pinion.
  16. If you can get the brake peddle assembly it will be 90% bolt in. You will need to fabricate a short bracket to tie the top of the peddle assembly to the original mount behind the dash. '99 XJ booster in '91 MJ (original dash) (dang it, thought I had a picture of the peddle assembly installed)
  17. It's a short drive to South Fork in comparison to the drive to Ouray. We spent a week camping at South Fork. Even went through some of the West Fork Fire damage. Now we are back in the heat and humidity of KS.
  18. She is clean, but really? $19k is a bit outrageous.
  19. X2. I've had good luck with those spacers. At 40K miles with mine.
  20. Axial Honcho truck with a ProLine body :)
  21. Wheeled south of South Fork, CO
  22. Used to have one. It was fast and fun! Image Not Found
  23. Whoops, good point. I had to do another test fit on my ball joint 60 from a 95 Ford to refresh my memory regarding clearance. The knuckle clears by about 3/16". I suspect the TRE may have some interference, especially if using the GM one ton TREs.
  24. :( The cone on my old slave was cracked as well, from top to bottom. Sorry, best of luck searching for a good one.
  25. That 01 WJ motor will not bolt into an MJ/XJ. If the Wrangler is a TJ, that stroker will not bolt into an MJ/XJ.
