U need to use a renix flywheel the 2000 has different timing marks. And u need the tans module and wiring its worth it but ull need allot. Anx the rear driveshaft will need shortened or find one the correct length.

Hate to tell ya probably internal. Had 1 do that to me but I lost 2wd also. Take the plug out and drain it check for metal shavings /parts
