Can Spell Comanche

Can Spell Comanche (2/11)

  1. Thanks for the input.
  2. Can I just go with a Cherokee windshield and black seal, or does the mj need to have the trim around it.

  4. Jim you are correct it is 8mm
  5. Thanks for the info
  6. My windshield is busted and needs replaced. I removed it so I could do a decent paint job. But my question is seeing it is just like the xj . Do I have to use the clips and the metal trim or can the glass guy use the rubber seal like the xj and omit the rest ? Comanche in question it a 91 lwb
  7. sorry not yelling. Every time I get on here I have to play with the fonts. The gearbox thing was what I have read about and many people claimed you could get a 1/4 turn more . No one told me you have to mod it. Thanks for the info
  8. A trick in the XJ community if you want to be able to turn your front wheel further, and tighten your turning ratio. A 98 Durango gear box will do this for you. It is a direct bolt in. Also rims with better backspacing will help with the rubbing. I have seen guys use wheel spacers to push the tire out and prevent rubbing ,but that always seemed unsafe to me.
  9. Thank you for all the replies. After make a good ground at the tail light harness the engine fired right up. Again thank you everyone for all the good info
  10. The 94 xj harness for the engine compartment does not have wires for the ballast resistor. But on the bright side I do have the bed off the truck and did not know it is grounded with the tail lights. Also I have found not all the connects match under the dash so I am in the process of swaping that out to. My oringanal thinking was to use the old mj harness in the cab but now that's not happing
  11. Ok please bear with me. I have a 91 mj it was 2wd and a long bed with the 4.0 auto. I took a 4.0 with the trans and transfer case out of a 94 xj to make the mj 4wd and to have a stronger low mileage engine. I also changed the engine bay wire harness. Now I am at the point of firing up the engine. The engine cranks real strong, I have spark but no fuel. I used a voltmeter and have no power to the pump. My chiltons and Haynes manual have not been no help and I am still scratching my head. Is there a way to download a mj service manual for free. I come from a xj background and this is my first mj . When greatlakes xj .com was still around they had free pdf service manual downloads and I had them on my laptop but on the down side had to get a new laptop because of the old ones motherboard fried, and I no longer have the download and the web site to download them is no longer there. Any help and advice would be great. Thank you all in advance Tom
  12. Davey's jeep has a mj bed but not sure if it is a long bed or not . www. daveysjeep.com
  13. Ok I have a question. Why a ls1 ? My line of thinking would be old school no computer no major electrical problems. Something like a chevy 327 or 283
  14. A direct mj bolt in ? Come on please share
