  1. I know this thread is old but doesn't anyone know the part number for these that would go on about a 3" lift?
  2. That looks pretty good too but I don't think it matches the 97+ ones very well. Perhaps if you did that on the front and back on the older flares, that would look good.
  3. I really like the look of the factory later flares. I thought I'd snap some pictures as I went so you can see what's involved if you're after the same look. First you'll want to cut off all the studs off the mounting brackets and cut off the ends of your flare so it will lay flat on your Comanche. Now you can use a marker through the factory holes to mark where the studs need to go. Next, tack weld some new bolts in the new location and bolt up the center piece. It takes 3 flares to make one Comanche one due to the larger size (you could do it with less but it'd be a lot more welding). The front flares would work for the ends so you only need to locate one extra full set of flares. The original flare mounted up a little different so you'll need to notch the sheet metal and bend up the tab so the bottom of the flare will fit. Now cut your end piece a little long. I used a die grinder but a air saw would probably work okay as well. I then used an course sanding wheel on my die grinder and kept sanding until it fit nice.
  4. I'm not even done with my conversion and today my fuel pump went out. I used the pump from my 97 and put it in place of the factory pump. It didn't really fit all that well as it was much smaller and the inlet was offset. I'm guessing the factory 87 Comanche pump wouldn't have enough pressure for the newer engine even without the ballast resistor. I'm thinking of a Walbro GSS340 to replace it but I don't have the old one to compare it to and haven't pulled out the current one. Anyways, what are you all using for your conversions?
  5. I found the brake light wire, white/tan, but when jumped into the tail lights, it just brings down the turn signals when they are used. Which pin did you jump into the multifunction switch?
  6. I tried searching but I could only find a few people who had run an extra wire back to the tail lights to make the brake lights work. Is that the only way?
  7. The header is made by Clifford. The only long tube headers I could find for this is Clifford, Pacesetter, and Michael Leach. My buddy has a Michael Leach header hanging in his garage getting dusty but he wouldn't part with it :fs1:
  8. Finally got my engine back from the machine shop. It's a balanced, blueprinted,and ported 4.7 liter. Not the ideal situation with having a downhill slope gravel driveway.
  9. Relocated the airbag controller back to its original location. It's sitting about an inch off the ground so I don't think I should have any corrossion issues. That left me some room to locate the ABS acceleration switch where the airbag module was. Also, got some wiring done and dynamatted.
  10. Lots of scrubbing and painting. I'm hoping this stuff holds up as well as the factory interior paint.

Okay, I searched for months on ebay and looking in local wrecking yards for those stupid 2 door cherokees so I had to make you guys work for it a little :banana: These are for the 97+ XJ seats and with the above link, it sounds like they will work on ZJ and WJ seats as well. Are you ready? Can you believe the 97-02 TJ uses the exact same recliner assembly as the 2 door cherokee?!!? Well, it does have a little nub on the release lever for a cable to hook up to also but other than that, same same. To think of all the wranglers I walked past looking for these stupid recliners.
  12. No guesses on what the recliner assemblies were out of? I'll give you a hint, they weren't off a 2 door cherokee, they're a direct bolt on, and they're plentiful in wrecking yards.
