Found next best thing to a six year old is toilet time, that's where I usually get cell phones and such figured out...

Got the Samsung tab 3 also, bought it so I didn't have to lug my laptop around for school (excuse to buy). First semester, never used it at all except for music. This semester, kind of proud of myself, used it to take notes in class, actually could have recorded audio or video, I can follow along on the lecture if it is posted. Got this cool HUD speed display that I use (night time only), not bright enough for day, but kind of cool. Today, if my daughter left her tablet at home (Ipad mini) I'd have to run it to her, myself leave home without my tablet...never. Kind of throws you into the tech stranglehold, so convenient, yet such a hassle when either you have no access or don't have it with you. Myself, I'm about to ditch the cellphone because I can make calls over the web for free. Backcountry Navigator has a cool app for gps and maps to be used on your tablet in the boonies (real reason I bought mine) Take it or leave it? I admit it, I'm hooked, might as well go to class naked as that is how I'd feel if I left home without the tablet. One more thing, suggest using a screen protector, and folio case for protection.

Found An Obscure Reference In A Childrens Show
64 Cheyenne replied to dasbulliwagen's topic in The Pub
Guess the punch line is still over my head, but Fran Drescher, doing the nanny, I mean as the nanny... I kind of liked the way she snorted...lol and that bod, and those slacks that went over the belly button, yummmm -
AX-15 stuck in reverse: pull backup switch out of the case, take a long screwdriver, use it to slide reverse back where it belongs, install shifter, reinstall back up switch... don't know if it helped anybody but seemed just as good as any to supply a tidbit that might be helpfull. One other note, if you banging your tranny to get it to go into reverse (clutch working properly), the clock is ticking...for more trouble. (thats how the reverse rail, rod, slider whatever gets bent)

Going To Look At An 88
64 Cheyenne replied to 91Pioneer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yup, easy job, just take the belt off, pull the HB with a puller, bolt new HB on. Make sure to get a longer bolt to get the balancer started on the shaft , then finish up and tighten with the correct bolt. -
Going To Look At An 88
64 Cheyenne replied to 91Pioneer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Not gonna address everything, let some others share, also but I'll start. Idler pulley or WP possible, but don't forget to check the harmonic balancer for separation, sometimes when they start coming apart the rubber hits the timing cover causing a squeaking sound to be heard coming from the front of the engine. Don't forget to look under the floors, check for rot through which is very common. Could help you with your buying price because most people wouldn't readily know to look for it and use it for bargaining power. One more thing, from the pics, the drivers door, what happened to the fender? Sometimes the door hinge takes a beating and can need substantial work. Repairable yes, easy or hard depends on your skill level. Nice looking truck, I wouldn't be afraid to start about 1700 2000. -
If I told you, you may hate me,... So spit it out and let it begin... don't you like to gloat when you get a screamin deal? I do...lol

These are so coool... Thought you were spelling the topic wrong...I get it gadgets, not gaskets...

Ok, so how much $$$ did it cost you?
-
Kind of like I said, 96 is sort of a bastard year, changin over from the end of 95 down, going to 97+ dash etc.
-
Best way, use the Cherokee column and dash. EVERYTHING from the Cherokee into the Comanche SHELL. You definitely need to use the cluster from the XJ (HO) dash and column because they are HO also.

I'd start guttin the engine bay. Start with header panel and radiator, go from there.
-
Need more info, like what they are, where you mounted them, and how much did they cost. Did you install them? Are they on relays? What do they do? Better pics would help (cause all I see is red behind the grill, red light on the ground), beyond that :dunno:
-
Lots of pictures. Probably have a couple hundred of the 95 XJ I dismantled.
-
Sounds like you got your head around what your doing, since its a total transplant gut one, replace with the other. Tail lights would be about your only wiring hurdle, but easily overcome, I think the data is in the "what is the most important tip you'd share with MJ owners" file.

Ok, YJ housing. Went to TNT Customs website, even a conservative estimate without welding, this axle would start at over $400 in parts alone...without the housing. Now about the axle side track bar mount, anybody got a pic of the needed missing L bracket? If it wasn't for the funky track bar mount, I might think about keeping it... or cut the truss, mounts off use at a later date. Any way I look at it, if I use the axle, it has to be regeared. The thing is kind of an oxy-moron, white elephant. A trussed 30 really? to run 35s, to constantly break axles and u joints, or I could build it so I can have long travel for high speeds and jumps...
-
Got this axle from a local Jeep guy for $50 bucks. 3.73 HP open. Before I bought it, I was thinking to buy it, keep it in stock for future possible builds, then I seen it in person and thought maybe not...seems that it is a disconnect housing (already stronger than a non disconnect) I thought OK cool, the D30 housing in the 88 is a disconnect. All cool till I see the track bar mount cast in place never seen that before. So I guess my plan now is to cut the Cs off the axle so I can cut around the truss easier, cut it off (truss) save it in stock for the future. I can easily weld pieces to complete the truss for a non disconnect axle. And the steering? anybody got any idea what it came off of and would it be an upgrade to either of my MJs if I chose to run it? And last of all, he had these in his junk pile, I asked about them, he said I could have them... Anybody know anything about them? manufacture etc...I'm pretty sure they are adjustable as evidenced by the grease zerk on the body of the arm, can't really tell for sure if adjustable, they been sitting in the weather and won't twist to adjust. Got PB Blaster on them trying to loosen them up. So I guess I'm gonna cut the housing up, and save the truss for possible future builds, don't know about the steering setup, R&R the control arms and run them on the Chief, yeah I know they will bind at max droop, guess I'll have to clearance the lower spring mount...but I doubt that I'll run into many full droop situations very often anyways.

http://comancheclub.com/topic/41036-retired-stormtrooper/?p=414630 :) From what I understand, without an LED dimmer in the circuit, the LEDs will be extremly bright and non dimmable.
