  1. I have a 92 Comanche, I prefer US Divers.
  2. Wow, that's a handy site. That just went into my favorites. Looks like my 3.55 axle set will work good with my 30's.
  3. Lebron who? You watch to much tv, go out in the garage or sit in a cool shady river with some brews. Turn the idiot box off.
  4. I thought my daughters wrangler was at its limit with 4.10's and 31's. I couldn't imagine how much of a dog 33's and 3.55's would be.
  5. If you had your location posted somebody could say "Hey! Come get the one that I have hanging around!
  6. As long as you don't plan on going any bigger than 32's or 265/75/16 4.10's will be sufficient. I had that in my XJ and it worked great for all around use and hauling. If you want to use the LSD you can get thick gears that will work with the 3.54 carrier.
  7. Check for bare wires going to the O2 sensor. 96 XJ I had the rear O2 sensor wires were rubbing on the driveshaft. Once they wore through it would run erratically.
  8. Possibly not enough fuel pressure. My 92 XJ had the same symptoms and the hose on the fuel pump wasn't tight enough. Maybe the fuel pump is getting tired?
  9. How many miles on it now? I put the clutch in at 214k.
  10. 87 swb 2wd 2.5 AX5, 88 4wd big ton auto, 88 swb 2wd 2.5 aw4. 89 lwb 2wd 4.0 stick, 92 lwb formerly 2wd stick now 4.0 stick 4wd D44 and a 92 swb formerly 2wd now 4wd 4.0 stick with a TJ 4.10 geared front and a 4.10 D35. Only own the 92's and the remains of the 87 now. But! I also have 4 XJ's 2 YJ's and a CJ. I have owned 11 XJ's before the currant 4, 6 of them for parts. 8 CJ's and 4 ZJ's. Most of them since 2000. Wow, I didn't realize how many I've had until I just added them up.
  11. The Luk repset is $114 on rock auto and includes the clutch, slave cylinder, pilot bearing, alignment tool and lube. I also have a Sachs clutch in my YJ and it had no wear on it after 30k when I pulled the tranny for what I thought was a bad internal slave that turned out to be a bad master. It feels like stock also. I've never had good luck with high performance clutches. Stock type ones ive never had to replace
  12. Oem replacement. Nice soft pedal, fast acting because you don't have to overcome spring pressure. The VW and tow dolly combo weighed over 5,000 lbs and it never complained. There's a lot of hills on I-81 and I-84 between Tennesee and Connecticut. The Luk gold will be all the clutch you will ever need.
  13. A trick the local Flatr8er taught me was after you do your work on the system and refill to just leave it be after you start the engine. Let it idle for a while as you clean up or work on something else. It quieted down pretty fast and didn't make any noise at all after 15 minutes or so. It has worked perfectly ever since.
  14. I think you better look under the hood while somebody turns the wheel to see what's going on.
  15. Do both sides because the other one probably isn't in much better shape. Or get a set of disconnects.
  16. Go with a Luk clutch. The one I did on my old 98 XJ has lasted 220k so far. It had a centerforce in it when I got it. It was horrible. Way to stiff. We weren't easy on the Luk clutch either. Didn't have first gear for 50k. Hauled a VW westfalia camper van from Knoxville TN to Connecticut. An MJ from Virginia without 1st. Plus a bunch of MJ's and XJ's locally. Best part about it was that when I bought it it came with an AX15 and flywheel for $100. They came out of a wreck. The guy said the clutch only had 800 miles on it.
  17. You can tighten up the action of the LSD by adding shims to the clutch packs.
  18. I'd like to add the 1.125 front and 7/8's rear to my 2wd XJ with a set of Bilstiens.
  19. You can always pull an injector and see if it squirts.
  20. Probably spent a lot of time at the beach.
  21. 16 3/8's for lower and 15 1/32 for uppers. Check your track bar mounts though too. They may have loosened up. Make sure everything is tight.
  22. All the vehicles I've owned for the last 35 years haven't been towed that many times. I don't think my wife or I have been stranded by a jeep more than 3 or 4 times in 700,000 miles. That's the reason I try to buy one owner cars that have well over 100,000 miles on them. You would only keep a car that long only if it has been trouble free.
  23. Don't you need TJ control arms to use the cam bolts? A regular XJ MJ control arm doesn't have cam bolts. Just use your stock bolts and arms or aftermarket arms.
