  1. In 2018 the Ultimate Adventure came to our property. There were several rigs with that engine. They all performed pretty well. But they are an expensive option.
  2. I personally wouldn’t rebuild a 4.0. I have had 3 engines with over 300k on them with one having 450k having never been opened. Went to the junkyard still running in a really rotten chassis. Have had several over 200k. If you can hear the engine run and it is quiet with no smoke or signs of water in it there is no reason that engine can’t go another 100k easy. The biggest source of 4.0 engine failure from what I have seen is water pump changes. People not knowing how to get the air out of the engine then they overheat and blow the gasket. Common to see ads for jeeps with new water pump and radiator with blown head gasket.
  3. I was 47 when I got my first registered Comanche. 39 when I got my first parts comanche.
  4. What kind of car do you have? I have a Stellantis!
  5. Good Job Dad!
  6. Cut down on the drinking, seriously. your drinks are equal to about 6-8 drinks at a bar. Can you stop drinking if you wanted to? If so, do stop for a week, month or more. Your body will thank you.
  7. Funny, but wrong music.
  8. Ask around if there any old school auto wrecking yards near you. Try asking at garages that work on older vehicles and at older auto part stores, ones that have been around for a long time. They’ll know where to find them. Also don’t tell them that you are specifically looking for a hood just to cut out the louvers. Just ask about 60-64 Corvair in general.
  9. I went to spectate in 2013. I brought my 1985 Honda 250 Big Red ATC. It’s probably easier to get around witha quad than it is a jeep. You can go more places too. Just not the extreme trails.
  10. I like the ZJ’s except for the horrible Chrysler transmission.
  11. Light gray dark gray and Tan/spice interiors. Some green to I think, not sure, my memory is fuzzy on the green. Maybe it was green and tan.
  12. No, I have not. I’m guessing that it’s an early 93 though. Does it have a 92 build date and an AW4 transmission?
  13. ^This, Jeep and other mechanical^ parts and tools fill my basement. Wood splitter, chainsaws, snow blower engine stands, engine hoist, jack stands, jacks, leaf blower, table saw, miter saw. 44” tool cart and chest, torch cart, generators, appliance dolly, hand truck, work benches, vise stand, 20 ton press. Plus plus plus.....,,
  14. You need to clean out your garages so you can work in them. Just like I do.🙄

    Snow

Anywhere from 14-18 inches here in northwest CT. Was real gusty so hard to tell what total was from Thursday.
  16. Are they a cross tube or does it have some sort of beam. If’n it’s a tube it can be narrowed and thrown under a narrower trailer.

    Winches

Any warn will be better than a smittybuilt. They tend to be fairly durable compared to the chicom winches.
  18. I had a 92 long bed that same color but not the same shape. I bought it for $400! 2wd stick. I eventually made it 4wd and added a D44 and some homemade 1 ton springs. It had 100k on it when I bought it and 200k when I sold it. I had a lot of fun with that truck and did a lot of work with it. It was very reliable. It wasn’t very photogenic but my dog loved riding in it.

    back pain

A $20,000 tractor is cheaper and more fun than back surgery.
  20. I have a decent used one I think.
  21. When they build this I might be interested. 400+ hp would be a wee bit overkill though.

    MJ and POTUS

    Yeah, that’s cool.
  23. The 68? Charger 500 is actually an Aero car also, just not as an extreme example like the Superbirds and Daytona’s. The rear window area was filled in like the superbirds and the grill was made flush with the front fenders. They didn’t stand a chance against the Ford Talladega’s though in 68. Your 8.8 should hold up even better than a 44. 31 spline vs 30 spline. Slightly larger diameter.
  24. I wouldn’t try to hard with it if it has a Dana 35. If it has a D44 you should be able to bang shift it. It works best trying it on a hill like in the videos. Keep your revs high so the tires break loose fast and don’t have time to make traction. I had a few Celica’s in the 80’s that we would redline then dump the clutch and they never broke an axle. We only broke one when a friend dumped the clutch at 3,000, it didn’t even move just went bang. I like that Charger 500. Your friend has some beautiful cars.
