I would flip the gate around backwards and maybe hit the logo with some paint. :) but then what I actually did was this:

I went with the 44/9" out of a desire for a more interesting build. if I had to do it again, I'd stick with a 30/44 and 32s. but I'd also truss the 30 and upgrade the shafts/joints inside. plus a pair of 60s mean carrying around another, what, 800 pounds of stuff? they are heavy. :ack: and I'm guessing those bigger tires will add another 300-500 pounds.

if you combine a AX-15 with a peugeot crossmember with a 1" crossmember drop it'll all balance out to normal. :thumbsup: don't buy a kit if you can make one. it's just 2 pieces of metal with holes in it. nothing complicated. or better yet, ask in the classifieds since frequently MJ kits mistakenly come with them and the owners don't use them.

if you can find an 84-86 or 94+ 2.5/2.8 XJ/MJ/YJ/TJ in the junkyard, they have an external slave. grab the bellhousing and all it's innards and you can upgrade at the same time you repair. :D

your truck can be converted to 4wd with minimal hassle.

soa will give 5-6 inches depending. a completely stock MJ can run 31s with minimal hassle.

just remove the whole thing. it's pretty pointless and doesn't affect anything after you pull the airbox out. :thumbsup: all will become clear as you tear into the project.

I used grade-8 allen head (socket head) bolts from the hardware store. :thumbsup:

I never expect an impact to work. breaker bar with a 4 foot cheater pipe on it. snap that stud off. :)

why are you stripping it clean?

back in school I played all the brass instruments, from trumpet to tuba. at one point I was into guitar, but that went away after I shook hands with the table saw and messed up the fingertips on my left hand. at one point tried to switch over to left handed, but never really gave it enough effort (it's an insanely weird experience).

:rotfl2: I bought the el' cheapo version from harbor freight since it does U-joints too. I've found other uses for it too.

I made my own. they go through the frame and are welded to plates on both sides.

ujoints are notorious for not liking changes in their operating angles. assuming there isn't any obvious looseness in the driveshaft, I would get new ones. :thumbsup:
