  1. I used baby powder to find leaks in y trucks. sprinkle it around in the suspect areas and the water will make tracks though it.
  2. x2
  3. I've got 3.92s in my dakota while running a tire that's about 28" tall. came that way from the factory.
  4. most of the small-lift shocks I've seen say 0-3" of lift. you should be just fine. if you want to cover your bases, you might try asking rustys if their shocks would work with 0 lift.
  5. 65 bucks doesn't seem that bad considering the costs involved if you wang the cover again drain your axle of oil while out in the boonies. :dunno:
  6. you're thinking of factory MT packs. aftermarket packs could be anything. :(
  7. the design would be questionable if it was made from thinner steel, but I guess it should do fine the way it is. I would have tucked in a square plate inside the bend to help fight collapsing of the arm, but again, 1/4" should do ok. a straight arm would have been even stronger.
  8. it would work pretty much the same under a Comanche as under a Wrangler.
  9. the driveshaft from an XJ will be about a foot too short (101" wheelbase vs our 113").
  10. and you'll definitely need a new driveshaft. check the thread in the DIY forum for lengths.
  11. have you tried car-part.com for a local 4x4 version? or even for a peugeot? you need a bunch more parts than just a trans, and you're going to need an AX-15 shifter either way. the crossmember will technically work, it'll just jack the trans up an inch. it's less of an issue with a 2wd trans since you won't have 4x4 linkage to align.
  12. sorta. I think it's halfway through 94. or maybe it was 95. my memory sucks and the cutoff is less clean than you might think (like most of the changes in our Jeeps). also, I adapted my 99 external slave line to my original 88 master using a pressure fitting from the hardware store.
  13. 96 would have been an external slave and used different parts than the internal slaves (94 and earlier).
  14. I'm assuming you've got the AX-15 crossmember? AX-15 trans mount? AX-15 bellhousing? AX-15 shifter?
  15. the Pub is for anything and everything. especially if it's Jeep related. :D
  16. congrats! and they look normal size on my screen.
  17. likely. try refreshing the browser tab and see what happens.
  18. the condition of the springs and the height of the perches go a long way towards determining how much lift that you need to match up front. and you can try mixing and matching with XJ leafs too.
  19. I wanted one of those, but the hunk-o-cedar was already on hand. :D
  20. I use the trans, the terrain, or a wooden block depending on the situation.
  21. reverse switch should be on the pass side of the trans. should have wires coming out of it.
  22. ouch. :( yet another reason I never use an e-brake. the 97+ will work with the front fenders, there's just a minor difference in the corner. the grille fascia is a bit more rounded than the fender. plenty of guys running it that way.
  23. whoops, didn't quite edit the quote enough. I mean, yes that should give you the desired results.
