well its just a matter of time and effort to get this puppy done really. i know a buddy who has the sbc in it and he told me some key points on what to do to it. Axles yeah we got some of those too now alot to chose from. But still its up in the air on the sbc if its a go or not. Really a fuel injected v-6 wouldnt be bad either. like one they have in the chevy sport equinox, we have one and it $#!&s and gets but the trannys are crap and slip like crazy. one close to it would be great. I love the i6 but i want better mpg. May just keep the I4 and drop the lift down and put some 33's on it. i may end up doing something that has never been done before you will all see. brianstorming like crazy right now though. *Hell all eles fails I'm droping a cummins 4bta in it with some turbo's and get 30 mpg and roll some black smoke along with 3/4 ton axles. which i would love to do sence i am a diesel freak.

I was looking at d40/d60 combo and locking them for starters...an gear them real low or high? what ever one it is... I'm planing on getting this running before winter as DD and start getting ready for trails next summer when i got better cash flow incoming. I'm A senior in highschool and just need a car. I'm selling my cherokee to get this baby running and I'm looking at 3 grand towards the comachee to spend. I'm keep the 4 banger in it for a while till summer. I'm see what i can do for axles and see if they work with 36's which they should if i keep it a DD. New rims are fine i get good deals on those. And i get a set of 31's and i can put on too. -

The damn key will not come out even when i have the lever down and I'm like trying to turn it back it won't budge. But i can turn it forward like to start it..... Is there like a solenoid for this that may have gone out? Cause i was to take the key in and out be able to leave a battery hooked up to it and not make it drain dead.... -

Well i would spend like 700 but if my dad helps hell i may get like 1500 for axle money -
now I'm completely new to axles and i know the basic and stuff but i need some new ones for my rig. Got dana 35's and been looking at some 44/9 or 44/60's off a truck. Some pictures would be nice of different axles. I don't want to spend a whole lot of money and would like to scrap the older ones. just need some help chosening the right one. More of daily driver first but soon will be a mudder later on in my life ha. I plan on keeping it till i die.

Yeah its stock axles but I'm looking at some 44/60's of a truck a buddy has but I'm not yet to that part of the build. want to get the motor running and if the 36's don't work i got 31 a/t's to put on it. But in the mean time all stock axles. so yeah 35.

So what do you mean by wrench? how do i do that? yeah and i can't get the key out either i don't know why.... -
I have the 4 cylinder in my Comanche and I don’t know why it’s not starting. I’m not sure where to start. But when I turn the key it makes the clicking noise like a dead battery, and also I can’t get the key out of the ignition I don’t know it won’t. Here me out it hasn’t been driven in a couple of years it’s a project jeep. But the guy I bought it from says it works. Has original 130xxx miles on it and it’s an 88 model basic. here's the motor picture, the guy before me had this motor out because he spray painted it like 5 different ghey colors.... Battery side see idk if I'm missing parts or not it seems like i am. But i don't care about it running down the road yet i just want it to fire and run for a second or two. I know it does it have a intake too, I'm not a retard. This is the starter Help would be need, please and thank you.

This is my 1988 jeep Comanche, which I picked up for $2700.00. Got it for a steal because it easily has over 6 grand in parts. Starting the parts list is the 8.5 inch long arm rusty suspension lift. Then the warn bumper with bull bars. Next we have 5 brand new super swamper IROKS 36 inches never seen the road still have the sticker on them. It has also the fender flares and custom tow woods drive shaft. Well motor it has is the 4 cylinder and currently isn’t running and that’s what I’m trying to find out. I put a battery in and it clicks like it’s a dead battery and also I can't get the key out of the ignition.(clutch to) So I don’t know if the starter is bad or I’m making some dumb mistake. I’m 18 and got a lot to learn so I choose to get some facts from yall of Cherokee forums. Ha I’m new too so if I do something wrong posting tell. No need for dick comments either. I need some motor help to start for why its not wanting to turn over thanks. I will ost my Progress slowly. :) jeep on!!
