have you taken things apart and watched the fuel injector in action to check for flow and drips?

the metric ton package could be ordered on a near-stock MJ, so there's no guarantee of anything coming with it. you need to ask for specifics. trim package would help, but even that won't answer everything.

the battery in my 90 likes to fake being dead. the cables are old and not making a good connection to the terminals (yes, someday I might actually change them. maybe.). all I need to do is fiddle with it a bit and it fires right up.

a similar issue on my 86 was caused by corrosion on the + terminal of the coil which apparently caused a weak spark. the gas eventually blew my muffler apart. :doh:

most aftermarket mufflers should all flow about the same. Especially since our engines don't really exceed 6k rpms. if you really want to split hairs, go with a straight-through design. but for cats, there are some hi-flow cats out there. I would go with one of them for sure. :thumbsup:

my 86 wore these rims for a while. I think they came from a TJ, but don't remember for sure.

tires don't have a "recommended" pressure on them. they list a MAX pressure. :thumbsup:

XJ leafs are mounted outside the frame, but MJs are mounted directly under the frame for more load capability. being under the frame means that they don't have the necessary arch room to be SOA. :thumbsup:

back to the question at hand, the TJ flares mount in a different fashion (easier to remount up higher) and will clear tires a bit better.

easier to custom-install and provides more clearance for tires.

87=90 are what you'll be looking for. try car-part.com for a junkyard search. ya might get lucky and find one listed near you. don't forget that you'll need to swap the oil pressure switch and high temp switch to the appropriate sensors. :thumbsup:

if you need to panic-stop, the brakes should overcome the engine and cause a stall. :thumbsup: still, try hard not to get into that situation.

one more vote for starting it in gear. :thumbsup: got my 90 home that way after I bought it (about 50 miles). pain in the rear, but it did it. :D

TJ fenders. they mount pretty easy and you can scoot them up a bit and allow for a bit bigger tire. :thumbsup:
