  1. I remember when all we had were a couple of grainy photos to go on. I guess it's really real for realz. you'd think they could have cleaned the engine bay and applied some black-renu to the flares. :dunno: wonder what the reserve is... Ethical Conundrum

use this opportunity to go with the dual brake booster
  5. that sucks, man. I feel your pain. :(

    Ethical Conundrum

there's no way I could ruin a clean MJ. :( just get what you need from the junkyards.
  7. the chevy extended shackles are far more common. you might be able to find a better deal.
  8. google says they are 6.5".
  9. the most common "lift" shackles for MJs are actually "drop" shackles for a fullsize chevy truck (chevy runs an inverted shackle so a longer one lowers their trucks). late 90s or 2000s chevy seems to be the one. try to get rubber bushings. like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Silverado-Sierra-1-2-Drop-Leveling-Lowering-Shackles-Rubber-Bushing-/262704736676?fits=Make%3AChevrolet&hash=item3d2a6c29a4:g:Dh4AAOSwopRYi9Me&vxp=mtr
  10. are they slightly longer than the stock ones?
  11. do you have adjustable lower control arms?

    Hoarding

yeah, moving puts everything into focus. :( I had to sell off a couple trucks and stash the bigger items in the shed at my grandma's house. (and no, she has no idea there are a couple engine blocks in there :D )
  13. pics of the input shafts and such would help a lot  all the parts in and around the bellhousing should be the same 2wd vs 4wd.

    Lumbar support...

I use one of these. also helps on hot days.

    Hoarding

I wish I had that problem. years of dedication (cough, obsession) have lead me down the same 2 paths.
  16. 10 posts in other forums are needed before the classifieds opens up to newcomers.
  17. sorta strong as hell. I broke mine. :( cracked the case by dropping it on a rock we think. certainly not because of my engine power. :shake:
  18. mid 90s v6 Rodeo/Montero rear 44s can be had with disks and 4.10s or 4.30 gears and are a perfect match for the Waggy fronts (same width and bolt pattern).
  19. what is the plan for the truck?
  20. I wouldn't worry too much about the price. I'd bet they're all spoken for. :( let the horsepower wars rage on! :D
  21. Rob did an amazing job repairing the frame horns on his XJ. can't seem to find the build thread though... :(
  22. careful with the exhaust and intake bolts. they reeeealy like to snap off. :( last time I pulled a 4.0 head I actually left the manifolds attached. worked pretty well. :) oh, and the injectors are fragile too. movement can cause the old o-rings to leaks.
  23. WJ lower control arms will cure the lca rub  (plus provide a better ride and handling)
  24. do you recall what he has up front? I have a 9" under my MJ (same sorta thing just a bit older), but it doesn't match the stock MJ front axle at all.
