depends on the level of rust. don't forget the little brackets that are under the bed that connect it to the frame. the bar won't save your neck either way, but you might as well get all the bits to make it factory. :)

and check for corrosion in all the sockets.

in theory the software should be able to shrink the size of the photo automatically. might not be happening that way just yet... :(

don't forget the rockers and above the rear tires. those go first.

MJs rot from the inside-out. if order to have any chance of the oil to work, you need to oil inside the entire uniframe, inside the rockers and cab corners, and between the inner and outer bedside (especially right above the rear tires). just spraying the underside does very little to beat salt. :(

I have a shifter (and ax-15) from a wrangler and the knob is reeeeeeeal close to the dash. what trans crossmember did you use?

try a Liberty for a rear axle. my 06 has an 8.25 that has disks and is a couple inches wider than stock MJ (to better mach the MJ's wide butt). ZJ or TJ front axles are commonly found with 3.73.

what did the AX-15 come from? did you use the Dakota bellhousing to adapt the AX-15?

XJ are different.

specifically about the 2.5 engine? or MJs in general?

not sure about the actual truck pictured, but I know putting the leafs on top of the axle gives different results depending on the sag of the leafs, the diameter of the axle, and the height of the perches.

problems have been solved and attempt 2 should happen this sunday afternoon or evening. be prepared. :D

when you go to replace the filter, just direct the line into a catch can and have someone turn the key to run. instant proof if it works or not :D just be sure to protect your face from any possible splatter.

there's a part number change 02-04 and 05-06. don't know what it means (usually nothing), but if you find an early one, double check the width. 4.10s are available on the early years of 4bangers :thumbsup: (though they probably don't have disks)

dunno what brand it is, but it's not a "cold" air intake. the air in the engine bay is wicked HOT. :( with no divider I have doubts as to its power making capabilities.

just to add one more to your list, my '06 Liberty has an 8.25 that is a couple inches wider than an MJ axle and disk brakes :thumbsup: there will be more bracketry to cut off (has a 3 link on it), but it doesn't look all that bad. just be sure to snag the bolt-on ujoint flange with the axle. no, it's not for sale (as my Libby still has need of it :D ), but car-part.com might be able to find another in a junkyard near you.

hopefully Alexia can get our software updated soon and our own script written so we can get copies of them before the go away. I have a feeling that everyone should probably start saving any Jeep pics they find and want to keep, just in case PB pulls the plug or something. :(
