  1. adding a hockey puck into the bottom of the spring is a common method of bumpstop "extension".
  2. my next thought would be the fuel injector leaking rather than spraying.
  3. 3072# is likely the most stripped down model.
  4. it's so cool to see science in action probably not on par with seeing a rocket launch in person, but still sweet none the less to see the resupply coming to meet it.
  5. has the the idle sensor or tps been tested yet?
  6. I'm unaware of any post-count restriction on PMs.
  7. can't disagree on that. but in all likelihood it'll be made from whatever I can find in the junkyards. I'll be replacing all the parts I want to hack with jy versions so the Jeep can be returned to stock if need be. plus I already own 4 rubicons and they aren't chrome. buuuuuuut, we'll see what I can find. I've scored some pretty sweet items in the past.
  8. I kinda like this one
  9. be extra extra careful when dealing with the sensor screws and bolts around the throttle body. they like to fuse themselves in place and strip the heads if you aren't putting enough pressure into the driver.
  10. the old school ones available in 1997. I had some ko2s on my dakota and they sucked in the snow.
  11. didn't another member go through the axle-pushed-forward problem just a couple weeks ago?
  12. I'll forward this to Alexia and see if he's got any ideas.
  13. we got a few inches yesterday and i got to actually drive in it. even with the old tires, the Libby did quite well (never went above 25 ). makes me pine for the early days with my 88. just 2wd and an open diff, but my new BFGs just stuck like nobodies business
  14. I would drill a new hole in the perch to move the tire back a bit. no matter what reason they give, that just looks wrong. plenty of guys are running stock shafts on a 4.5" lift without that wonkyness. you don't need a fork at all to fix the CAD. just use a hose clamp to keep the collar in place.
  15. do you want stock height? lift? more hauling capacity? owners have used Dakota, S-10, Explorer, and f-150 leafs to make their own packs. none of them are exactly right, but they are close, especially if you retain the MJ main leafs to locate the tire in the wheel well. just mix and match leas until you find what you desire.
  16. sounds like it should work pretty good. take lots of pics and do a DIY writeup!
  17. none of those pics are my libby, although it's a common upgrade on the CRDs (mine included) to use the V6 intake instead of the stock one. having the intake up higher sucks up less crap into the filter. it's a wonderful time to be alive. science is on the verge of so much greatness!
  18. love that custom seat cover. I'm sure you're going to miss the CJ, but this looks like a great project too.
  19. SYE is unnecessary (we have a really long wheelbase and that means a really long driveshaft which means the angles are nice and gentle as opposed to wranglers and XJs) but can be a good strength upgrade if you've got the cash.
  20. I love those 2-doors. Jeep really should have made those. I'd take one over a wrangler.
  21. did the engine run prior to removing it from the donor? have you pulled the distributor at all? and have you double and triple checked the plug wire order on the cap?
  22. I would try unplugging the intermittent box and bypassing it. probably not the issue, but it's easy enough to check.
  23. yeah, they are right in front of the frame and can prevent damage to the bumper if you need to gently push some one.
