  1. couldn't wait. ran outside with a flashlight and found that the endcaps were molded in 87. for whatever that's worth. also, there's a big owl in the tree.
  2. oh I promise, you don't want this particular trailer. the internal bedside rust is rampant and has just started popping pinholes under the flares. she's lead a hard life. but I just remembered that I wanted to pull a build date off one of the mangled rear bumper's endcaps. I'll put that on my list for tomorrow.
  3. and the finished product. should look great rolling down the road.
  4. made some tiedown points. there's a big washer under the bedliner and I opened up the hole in the plastic for the nut. now the liner can move a bit and not buckle in the sun, but it is securely attached and won't blow away (again).
  5. is a stock MJ too tall? or is it your MJ that is too tall?
  6. I imagine 2wd 2.5 would have to be the shortest are you measuring the tire diameter? or the height of the top of the tire off the pavement (presuming there's a truck squishing it down). are you trying to lower your truck 5"? cause that's a 10" reduction in tire diameter. at that point I think you're just driving around on rims.

awesome! be sure to start yourself a build thread.
  8. yes. changing wheels can change the track width.
  9. tire size will not change track width as the tire will want to be centered on the rim. what was wrong with the 195/45?
  10. I've decided to go with a single emblem (I only have one that's already damaged) and screwing it to the front of the box to one side.
  11. I have a drop-in that should be installed later today.
  12. yeah, you'll want to get input from other racers or rules-people. I'd hate to see you spend money only to find out the regulations actually mean this instead of that. but also, this is my fav tire size calculator. https://tiresize.com/converter/ and then I use tirerack.com to see if the size I wanted actually exists. by the way, 195/45/r15 are the shortest but still reasonable width tire I could find. specs to 21.9" tall. finding 14" rims in a 5on4.5 pattern with the correct backspacing might be the hardest part. edit: and perusing the 14" tire sizes I don't see any tire that would be shorter than the 195/45/r15 anyways.
  13. starting to look like a comanche again. I went with bolts and washers for the flares since the studs all snapped.
  14. that is just plain awesome in every way! you must be very proud!
  15. do you have a multimeter?
  16. for me that scenario always meant a poor connection to the battery. have you cleaned the mating surface between the battery and clamps?
  17. I appreciate the kind words. just don't get too close. she's seen a hard life and I can only turn back the clock so far.
  18. Owner @nomadic_adventurerr
  19. haven't done one myself yet, but I do know it's possible to install them backwards. whoever did my 88 made it so the key turns towards you. weird.
  20. holy moly!
  21. a nice addition. I have them on my truck and like them. but we need more pics of all the details of the truck
