  1. I installed this new-to-me '92ish radio in my '06 Liberty. that's right, a 26 year old radio in a 12 year old Jeep. Minuit installed the AUX (and replaced the bulbs so I can see the time) and I added in a Bluetooth dongle (the cable you see is for charging the phone). the sound is very good if you use an equalizer on the phone rather than the sliders. I have no desire to get a more modern unit. the only thing lacking is an output for a subwoofer, but Jeremy is working on that.
  2. congrats!
  3. ooo! I like the cardboard trick!

    Half-track ATV

they are so far back of the CoG I wonder how effective they would be. neat idea though.
  5. research, research, research. Disney is not a place to just show up without at least a hint of a game plan. there is practically infinite choice of what to do next. there should be menus online of what all is available at the various booths at F+W so you can see ahead of time where you want to go and try things. oh, and some of the booths have a second line so make sure you take a look to see if there is an empty line on the other side. and get your fastpasses asap!
  6. in this day and age, I imagine (if it's resold, not wrecked) that it'll pop up again on the internet.
  7. I've updated the links I can find in the DIY list. not sure about where else they would be though.
  8. yup, start running through Cruiser's tips. should be the first link in the link in my sig. one of them is refreshing grounds, specifically the one behind the drivers side taillight which grounds the fuel pump.
  9. welcome to the addiction. just wait til you're eyeing your third truck. oh and be sure to start a build thread.
  10. a small amount of oil in the filter just means you own an old Jeep. nothing to be concerned about. clearing out the lines is the first step. if it still does it, you can do a valve cover mod to help keep the oil from splashing up to the vent. there are several members with over 300k on their engines. also, here's some good late night reading for ya:
  11. you too! have you done a food-n-wine yet?
  12. the double booster is by far the best upgrade. should be a couple how-tos in that link.
  13. well, that would match up with the bumper endcaps. 87 it is.
  14. the 7th is the day we leave.
  15. yeah, I'm going to have to trace that wire from start to finish. not looking forward to it. but I've got a week in Disney World between now and then so I'll get by in the meantime... somehow. the CRDs all came with Optima red tops, so leaks probably weren't much of a concern. or maybe that's why they came with the red tops because they had already decided to put electronics under there.
  16. fixed it. Novak really needs to catch their typos
  17. had to google that. on this side of the border they are Cliff notes.
  18. I had the same thought. MAP sensor in the intake manifold is clean as a whistle
  19. partway through 89 was the peugeot-ax15 turnover.
  20. that is a possible next step. I just need time to swing by a junkyard and grab a 3.7L fuel pump assembly and rear wire harness. but I'm out of town all next week and so I think the Jeep will just have to sit in the corner for a time-out and think about what's it's done.
  21. an early 8.25 is only a bit better than a dana 35. it's the later ones that are the bee's knees
  22. soooooo... not to alarm anyone, but I downloaded the 2006 KJ shop manual and my searches through it cannot find a p1186 code.
  23. I used a Bosch brand sensor. supposed to be a quality unit. the resistance numbers match the old sensor. no idea what they are supposed to be though. I can't find that info.
  24. well if it's a clue, it's a red herring. a new sensor changes nothing. taping the connector firmly to the sensor changes nothing. I've got 5 volts at the connector. I'm running short of ideas to test...
