the caster is adjustable via the sliding bolt bracket at the back of the lower control arms. add more shims to push it forward. though not every truck has enough space to give to accommodate a lift.

let there be no doubt, if I had money, I would go look at it. but I'm poor, so I'll go out and say hi to my not-anywhere-near-as-nice MJs and be content.

shocks and wheelwell liners are in. rain is close so I'm calling it a day.

do what ya gotta do for you. ownership was never a requirement for membership so don't be a stranger. the club still owes you tons of beers. just be sure you don't look at your Jeeps as some sort of failure or waste of time. you created something very beautiful in them and inspired countless other owners. and I've heard that the big cities of Japan are either hate it or loooooove it. no one I know has ever come back and said "meh".

where are you? I gotta imagine that would normally be crushed with the truck at a junkyard so I gotta imagine you just need to find the nearest MJ in a yard and the roof will be yours.

couple of decked-out XJs in the 'yard today. more picked over than last time I found that Laredo, but I still scored a 92 header (minus the broken grille), gas skid, hitch, renix throttle body, a million little switches and lights and such, front chrome bumper, brand new battery cable, fan shroud, couple turbines, one waggy tail, and some other stuff. 'twas a brutal day considering the GA sun and temps in the 80s and the 1/4 mile uphill walk with everything to get to checkout, but it's good exercise as long as it doesn't kill me. right? right? also spied a set of turbines on an late 80s dodge truck. looked in good shape but the yard wants way too much for rims to have grabbed them too.

stopped by the junkyard and picked up some rear shocks and bolts. but I beat myself up pretty good removing/hauling XJ stuff out of the yard (1/4 mile all uphill) so I'm taking a break before installing the KJ stuff. probably later today I'll get the last things on and get it back sitting on its tires.

I haven't memorized the rear bolt pattern orientation maybe someone else has? got a part number off it? did you grab the shifter handle?

eventually Jeep made "power" the default and deleted the switch. apparently "comfort" really didn't do much of anything worthwhile.

do make sure that you're uploading them to CC. the quality will be better and then we won't lose anything if tapa tanks.

It looks like that was the only way to get it in an MJ. find a dealership that can order up every little thing you want, regardless of it being in the official brochure.

thank goodness that skidplate was installed. had an issue with pulling the trans pan (popped down on it's own with no prying like last time but didn't sall because I had several bolts in half-way) and the ensuing tidal wave flowed over the trans crossmember and the skidplate then carried the fluid waaaaaaaay beyond my catch pan. yup, that was a mess and half. but I managed to catch most of it and so now the transmission filters have been changed and most of the fluid replaced (gotta wait until the Jeep is level to put in the rest).

I cannot imagine a more inviting place for the inexperienced MJ owner than here at the CC. we all start at the same bottom rung on the knowledge ladder and some of us have simply been around MJs long enough to have climbed a bit. But we're always looking to lend a hand to anyone in need.
