    Ax Throwing

Cole Canoe Base boy scout camp in michigan. went for many years as a kid and then worked there one summer.
  3. went for a walk and the crickets were going nuts so I figured some good ol' Frontierland music fit the ambiance.

    Ax Throwing

not plywood. soft is better so the ax will easily stick. at summer camp they used rounds cut from larger logs with a large backing of plywood so we didn't have to chase quite so many axes. also acceptable are 2x4 or 2x6 ends glued together or even boards running top to bottom. bonus points if you make a plan for replacing the center line easily (it gets the most abuse)
  5. 8" is without squishing the seats. I imagine you can wedge a bit more in there...

spares are a good thing to have
  7. looks to be about 8" between the seat cushions.
  8. any console designed for a TJ/YJ will fit
  9. I'm sure those are a great set of brakes, but whooooooweeee that's a big chunk of change for rears. there's a writeup on using ZJ rear disks in the link in my sig. Liberty and Explorer brakes are also common upgrades.
  10. 800 bucks! daaaaaaaang man that's a good score!
  11. are these rare? I don't think I've ever seen them in a junkyard but once.
  12. honestly, if I was going all out, I'd do one of the dual boosters, a front prop valve (from something with rear disks like a WJ), and then convert to rear disks and eliminate the rear height sensing valve. if I found that it wasn't quite right, I'd add an adjustable aftermarket inline prop valve to the rear line to dial it in perfect.
  13. I imagine you can get a reman WJ booster from a parts store. there are links to the dual booster swaps in the link in my signature.
  14. was the test done wet or dry? what about #6?
  15. special how? You have the very first year. and there were some sweet graphics packages. and the AMC-20 was the optional heavy duty axle (the only year for that axle). oh, and the XLS had different cloth panels than later years, and happen to be my favorites. the cool COMANCHE badges with all caps was ended super early in 87 so those are dang rare.
  16. by no rear brakes do you mean you are unable to bleed anything out of the rear lines?
  17. sooooo, not patchable then.
  18. bigger tires need bigger gearing
  19. that panel is pretty common. shouldn't be too hard to find a nicer one. truck looks fantastic!
  20. why was it flat?
  21. what gears are in the axles?
  22. certainly seems effective.
  23. RE sells a quality product. I wouldn't worry too much about a possible v8 in the future as most modern v8s are aluminum and not really any heavier than the 4.0l
  24. I would retrieve as much of the XJ harness as I could and see if it reaches to the MJ's rear harness connector. If not, than you'll need to extend it. but then you can splice it into that MJ connector and still retain the ability to separate the taillight harness in the future. beyond that the link in my sig should have how other owners have spliced in to make the turns signals work.
  25. what are the plans for the truck? are you looking for flexy or load bearing? you need more than springs to do that much lift, what other components have you gathered so far?
