  1. wiring is a big issue with these old trucks. have you accomplished all of Cruiser's MJ tips? should be like the first link in the link in my signature you wouldn't happen to have this little guy somewhere in the engine bay, would you? it's white-ish and like 3" long. it wouldn't have been there from the factory, but could have been added later on.
  2. so it is a cowl filter. why would anyone give you flak over that? those things are pretty sweet!
  3. woke up to this in my head this afternoon

    ouch...

the leg has been real achy this evening. but I can't tell if that's because of the abuse I subjected it to today or the fact that I forgot to take my pills in the morning and at lunch.
  5. the dead-on-arrival parts seem to be getting more and more common these days
  6. seems to be a popular thing these days.
  7. I'm starting to really wonder why it hasn't sold yet. in theory it's close enough for me to check out, but I'm too broke and broken to do it.
  8. the color-matched trim is rare as all get out.
  9. someone go back in time and get me those flares!

  13. I shall try to remember that.
  14. I'm not really worried about MPGs or cold weather starts in that particular truck

    ouch...

grit scratches can't. but it hardly matters on a rusty Jeep. it is what it is. so today I hit the junkyard. meaning I drove there all by myself like a big boy. met up with Ryan who did all the ground work and wheelbarrel moving to get that 242 out of the waggy. (huge thanks!!) The drive was... interesting. especially the first few miles as I learned that I need the seat practically all the way back now to keep the leg straight-ish. and I'm now a 2-footer for stop and go traffic. I've got no issue with slamming on the brakes with my right, but keeping that foot on the brake pedal for longer time causes some nasty aches. but I drove there (half-hour) and walked a lot more than I probably should have in the junkyard and got all the way home. so am I ready for a 12 hour excursion north? heck no. any achy-ness that occurs doesn't tend to go away on its own while I'm pinned in the drivers seat. it's going to take a bit longer (assuming there's any more healing I can do on my own) and likely going to need a 2 day adventure north. still, this sure feels like progress we shall see.
  16. I've never looked into new, so I'm of no help there. but the later years of first gen XJ has a vastly superior plastic than the MJ years.
  17. 92-96 XJs or were you talking about new replacements?
  18. both are only available used and are literal hens teeth. also, after 6 more posts the classifieds will open up to you. sorry about the hoops. it's an anti-spam measure.
  19. score! my sister just brought a 1500 diesel home too!
  20. have you added a new ground to the wiper motor? new ground to the dash?
  21. that back and forth that it does up by the door would be a real challenge to get right.
