  1. don't you have an ACE or Aco hardware store nearby? something? anything?!
  2. don't feel bad, the wasps (or hornets or whatever they are) living in the ground aren't pollinators, they are predators. they are a good thing to have (as long as the nest isn't in a bad location), but it's because they hunt other problem insects and such.
  3. now's the time to just order yourself a pair of threaded studs.

    ouch...

I think I've finally figured out how to get into the drivers seat of the Jeep with minimal pain. it involves putting the seat all the way back and pushing off the door with my good leg. there's going to be a lot of shoe marks on that door panel...
  5. nothing wrong with a 2wd.

be sure to start a build thread. I'm sure you'll get tons of comments. this is more for documenting the truck and getting it in the registry. a build thread is more for showing off your truck and sharing the adventure of bringing the beauty back to life. It's got an interesting combo of good stuff and bare bones stuff. reminds me of my old 86. it was very base, but with the bigger engine, AC, metric ton, and 4x4. just start a new thread and copy/paste in your pics
  9. not a concern. the bellhousing will be fine. but trying to thread the nut onto the unthreaded part would be a heck of a challenge.
  10. 5 is acceptable if 8s are unavailable. you can also order them online.
  11. be sure to test it before you convince yourself that's the issue. no firing of the parts cannon just yet!
  12. Just don't let them convince you that the transmission has to be removed. You can do it by dropping the pan.
  13. It can be tricky, but I had never done it before and I was (eventually) successful. should be videos on youtube.
  14. classic iron with a hellcat engine
  15. found one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/293394667093?epid=1240100894&hash=item444faf5655:g:GbIAAOSwdkNeBM4N
  16. at that point you should probably start a thread in Tech so more eyeballs will see it.
  17. that's going to be sweet with a pair of UBS charging ports in there
  18. but it never hurts to check the trans, since a lot can happen in 30 years. that exact 44 would only have been under a truck that had the 2.5L and thus are rare as hell. but a 3.07 or 3.55 geared 44 is definitely find-able and then you would just regear it.
  19. that might be a challenge, since most bolts are only threaded for the bottom 2 inches.
  20. I definitely have a live-n-let-live lifestyle (especially when it comes to wasps, which are great predators of the more annoying bugs), but I gotta draw the line at a wasp nest of that size being where my nephews play.
  21. grade 2 is weak crap you can snap by torquing it down. grade 8 or nothing. find a better hardware store.
  22. well, if it locked up by sitting, then I guess that's definitely a good reason to replace it.
  23. it's one of those pics where it gets worse the longer you look at it.
