As to the radiator, I remember reading over the years that some have gotten by with the best 4.0L rad they could find combined with the best E-fans they could find. Heat is always the enemy with an engine that big in an engine compartment that small. Well, unless you try to use the Dana 35, then your biggest enemy becomes spitting ring gear teeth and shafts all over the place. :brows:

You can get away with one per side. My 88 has been that way for years. :D

My 90 has 2 keys. It's not driveable yet, but I've always wondered what it's like to have 2 keys for an MJ. :hmm: My 88 has one (because you don't need a key to start it and I lost that key years ago). My 86 has none. Don't need a key to start it and I certainly have no need to lock the dang thing. :laughin:

I would go with the RE front and then go with rusty's 4" lift leafs. Most guys running the leafs got a bit more than 4" so it should all work out in the end. :D

Keep in mind that the sheetmetal in the corners of the bed were never designed to hold up anything more than the tail lights. It'd probably be better to build a freestanding one that attached to a built bumper.

It's hard to tell from the bad photo up there, but the body is rotting away in too many places to justify spending any money on paint. It was a old truck in need of some TLC and I decided to rescue it and make it into my DD (hopefully a reliable DD) or at the very least then I'll have a pickup with a usable bed (I own 4 trucks and the other 3 can't be used as actual pickups anymore). Also it's a test platform for some minor projects (like the 95 XJ booster or Hurculiner in the interior) before I put them into my 88.

Are you sure that law doesn't apply just to R-12? There are similar measures across the states that keep R-12 out of the public's hands.

Step 1: Go get yourself some insulation. Even a functional A/C system can only do so much. Step 2: The conversion comes as a kit. Go buy it. :D

They're low-pinion though, so it's still not quite a perfect axle. Stay away from the CAD ones and make sure it's a drivers-side diff. Just because it came from a big FSJ, doesn't mean it's the one you want to sink your money into.

Driving it? Not quite. There's still the issues with the hole in the floor, no shocks, no brake lights, bad fuse box, etc. Oh, and it's not plated yet either. :roll: Someday. But right now I need the garage space for other things so it gets to work on it's sun tan for a while. Yup, I've seen that red one too. I left a magnet with him. Dunno if he actually stopped by here though.

It's ALIVE!!!!! :clapping: sorta. I just needed to move it out of the garage to make some room for the 8.8s. But she moved under her own power.

That can be the kicker. The shop that first touched my 88 wanted like $500 for a new condenser ($1100 for the whole job). I bought mine through JCW.com for a fraction of that.
