  1. I think it's the older MJ/XJs that have a regular pressure switch for the brake lights. Like 86 and older.
  2. Oops. Yes, eastern standard time. :hateputers:
  3. yup, we will be trying again tonight. :typing:
  4. Some good reading here: http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12369
  5. In 86 the available T-cases were the np-207 (21 spline) and the rare np-228 awd case. All 2.5L/2.8Ls had 21 spline t-cases.
  6. Meh. I just throw out the anchor. :D
  7. Yup. And there could be coolant under the carpet too. I've had that happen. :(
  8. Sounds like a good time to "pass". Too bad. :( Just goes to show ya what all a fresh paint job will hide.
  9. I don't know if it's worth it, but I believe it only applies to 91+ mpi 2.5Ls.
  10. x2. car-part.com shows 3 late model 8.25s with 4.10 gears in Mass for $250 each. Go get one! And if there is a matching front axle at the yard, get that too!
  11. How can no one ever remember my paypal? It's the same as my email address, petermontie@hotmail.com :D If you want a decal, you better send me a PM (and include your address). I've been known to forget it otherwise.
  12. Thanks for trying.
  13. I've been meaning to pull it out of the garage, but keep getting sidetracked with more important stuff (it's been a rough week). Wanted to do it today but it's pouring rain. I'll be dragging it out on the next decent day and then I'll update with photos, opinions and such.
  14. Meh, I made my own sliders. Wasn't all that hard. :D Should have done it before I smashed them though. :( Certainly none of my trucks are needed for anything at the moment, but I'm not sure if they are "pretty" enough for you. :D :redX: If JCR wants any input from a guy that has torn into a few MJs now, just let me know. Having no job means I have lots o' time on my hands. Stupid Michigan. I wonder if my engineering degree is worth something elsewhere in this country...
  15. Oh, wait, I'm not quite old enough to win. But in 3 years I will. Looks like I'll be taking on Hillary. :D
  16. In Michigan? That certainly narrows it down. :teehee:
  17. Someone could have swapped axles. Maybe. Hey, at least you didn't buy it and then find out. :D
  18. I would check the condition of the ground located right behind the drivers side tail light. And I'd check the condition of the connector in that wire harness (it'll be right behind the drivers rear tire).
  19. 4.0L + auto = 3.55s generally.
  20. What's the condition of the battery cables? Did you clean the insides of the cable terminals and not just the battery post? (I only ask because I had a friend do that). I would take the battery in to one of the auto parts stores that does free checks on batteries. Also, my 90 is notorious for giving me that same "click" when the battery is just fine. Seems I have to fiddle with the terminals every stinking time I try to start it (which is admittedly like once a month and the reason I haven't replaced the cables yet).
  21. I would, if I wasn't broke (or at least if my truck wasn't also). :(
  22. It's been a long week. My sense of humor is a bit... off.
  23. Seems like cool guy. I'd probably vote for him too. 8)
  24. Maybe. The canister is where the system "stores" vacuum energy so there's some available when the engine is producing less. The engine may still run fine, but the HVAC system may not.
