A 95 Dakota rear line works great and is a bit longer than stock. :thumbsup:

Shim the CAD to be engaged all the time and you'll eliminate that as a cause for sure. :thumbsup:

It's probably not anything most people have in their garage. I believe it's a fine thread metric. But I too don't have any lying around to check. :(

Yeah, that one has me stumped and I haven't found a solution. Personally, I use the scroll wheel to open in new tabs (I also use Firefox).

I don't know what blackjack is, but I once used roofing tar in my 88 and I can assure you that it is NOT to be used anywhere on a vehicle. What a mess it made. :( and it never did harden. It just remained a sticky, gooey mess. :fs1:

It's relatively straight forward as long as you have the proper tools. It's a looong procedure though. A good weekend for me. Spray down the bolts with PB Blaster for days ahead of time. Be prepared that the head weighs a lot. Or at least it seems to when it's in the middle of the engine bay. :shake:

I bought an 8mm ratcheting box wrench just for those 4 bolts. Makes life soooo much easier. :yes:

An AX-15 can last practically forever, but they are susceptible to synchro degradation from using the wrong gear oil. Current specs call for 10-W40 engine oil and not the old gear oil (which has compounds in it that eat away at the bronze bushings). Rebuilding one is supposedly pretty straightforward but I've never done one yet. Step one is making sure the trans has enough oil in it. Check the t-case too. It takes ATF oil.

Keep pulling up that floor insulation. I found more rust in my otherwise rust-free 90 as I went up under the dash. :( This is just more proof that ANY MJ in any condition in any location is susceptible to to carpet rot. :fs1:

The offroad package included the skidplate package, but the skidplate package was available separate. (I'm looking at the 88 dealership brochure, other years may be slightly different)

So far in my experience, 3 issues pop up when dealing with stickies. 1: Nobody ever seems to read the stickies. 2: Everybody's situations are slightly different and inevitably things that sound like they should be "universal truths" will turn out to be not-so-much. 3: Listing those things anyways would result in a FAQ that is astronomically huge (and might be why nobody ever reads the stickies). :thumbsup:

For what it's worth (which is very little at this point), that little extra bracket that MJs have is not necessary on a stock MJ. XJs don't have it. Not sure if you can work around that though. The easiest solution might be to have new shorter arms made up. :(

Skid plates came with the aptly named "skid plate package". :thumbsup: They were not standard on 4x4 MJs.

Cheap stuff is generally cheap for a reason.

Should be 4.10s, but I'd double check the tag if I were you. Also (if I were still standing in your shoes), I'd focus on finding a Dana 30 front that already has 4.10s in it so you won't have to regear anything. :thumbsup: 2.5L 4wd conversion shortlist: -4wd AX-5 -21 spline t-case -shifter linkage, handle, and make sure you get that little bracket that bolts to the underside of the floor -front driveshaft from a 2.5L MJ/XJ -rear driveshaft from a 4wd 2.5L MJ (or have your 2wd one cut down to size like many of us do) -Dana 30 that matches your rear axle ratio
