  1. I mean, secrecy is key, right? but seriously you can put it anywhere, but it's rough to find a place that's reasonably convenient to reach every day, but not in a place that a thief would look. I like the idea of using a re-used factory dash switch. right out in the open.

nothing screams "well cared for" like stock bumpers half ripped off the Jeep.
  3. so I've reinstalled the hvac and it rains and nothing leaked. nothing I addressed anyways. I still have a tiny dribble coming from where the arrow is pointing. is this a cowl leak? I'd really rather not pull the hvac back out and so the view of up there in the corner is minimal at best.
  4. at this point I more or less suggest that everyone just replace the windshield. should be under 300 for glass/labor and gives a brand new clear view out the front. plus addresses the occasional leak.
  5. I've seen far worse. in fact the inside of your frame looks fantastic
  6. at this point in time pretty much all remaining colors are rare. just some are even more rare than others. someone find me one of the 15 yellow MJs from that Pensoil giveaway.
  7. I'm sure it'll look weird at first simply because it's a change, but it's common now a days for manufacturers to black out the B and/or C pillars.
  8. what about painting them black as a contrast color?
  9. paint code is on the little metal plate in the engine bay up in the corner by the driver. and no, we've not yet found any official breakdowns of paints or trim packages or literally anything. even the annual total build numbers don't fully make sense.
  10. yeah, having your own personal junkyard is pretty convenient sometimes
  11. the yellow things are tubes. the fins simply conduct heat away from the tubes. the fins don't have to be all perfect.
  12. I'm still envious every time I see engine swaps in rigs that can remove the fenderwells. it's like cheating. how's the heat working in the barn?
  13. yup, that's just part of the structure.
  14. do you need the rubber mount? or the metal bracket that holds it to the frame? I've got a set of MJ 2.8 brackets in that empty shell of a truck.

    Tailgate

they are repairable. just drill out a few spotwelds and they come apart.
  16. excellent efforts saving that truck. (I flipped your pics for you it's a weird glitch in how different devices save the orientation of the photo. I've found that if I rotate it in my laptop, then rotate back, it changes that code and then appears correct each time. phones are a bit different though.)
  17. a single 8" in the cab was enough to melt the kidneys of the passenger in front of it. buy quality and feed it all the power it can handle and you'll be fine with less. top end kenwood 5.25s components with separate tweeters, 10 band equalizer, and a Solo Baric 8" (I don't remember what the amps were). it was an incredible mix in that tiny cab.
  18. well that's just weird. it's not the first picture in the thread and not the latest. why did the software pick that particular one?
  19. but now it's done. forever.
  20. did you have the battery checked out?
  21. good for more than carrots
  22. this one is looking pretty sad and it's doubtful I can get it back into place and guarantee a good seal. anyone found a good replacement? I don't really want to have to yank a bunch of hvacs looking for another in decent shape.
  23. gotta be patient. @eaglescout526
