  1. pretty sure it was Rob that went through two 44a axles under his ZJ (both bearing failures in the diff) and then angrily swapped in a 35 and carried on. I lump them into the same category as the 35. light duty. swap-able for sure, just don't spend a ton of coin on them. the Liberty 8.25s are plentiful and cheap.
  2. the end of the probe needs to be in the middle. looks good to me.
  3. could be wrong, but I believe it's less "locktite" and more "sealant-so-the-hole-doesn't-leak".
  4. that is a... unique lid. I love it!
  5. comradery and knowledge are worth sharing ownership was never a requirement for membership. bummer about the truck though. that sucks.

the innards can be upgraded (6 gear sun, wide chain, etc). but if in doubt, look into the 241hd
  7. my TJ ax-15 shifter smacked the MJ console stuff too.
  8. looks like a $255-272 price range. they are now taking pre-orders.

    I don't think "209" is a t-case.

    228. for the life of me I can't keep the 228 and 229 straight. lol. the 228 has the open diff, the 229 has the viscous coupler.
  11. can you share a picture of the stickshift handle? what's teh overall bend look like? what's the bend look like that's partially hidden under that boot?
  12. that clocking definitely looks normal for an MJ/XJ
  13. good idea. ooo, a photo taken from the rear axle towards the t-case might help. assuming the 2.5L wranglers had the same clocking as the 4.0 wranglers of course.
  14. nice is the tarp for storage or travel?
  15. I do know the ax-15 has an aluminum metal plate. 4/5 has a steel one.
  16. I just have this nagging feeling the trans came from a wrangler.
  17. eaglescout and jdog work at dealerships. I'm hoping they can look it up.
  18. @eaglescout526 @jdog does that help determine if it's a cherokee or wrangler trans?
  19. fuel regulator is bad, fuel filter is clogged, maybe something has gone wrong in the tank.
  20. I think this is the right image for the ID tag
  21. it's only like 4 turns to unscrew them.
  22. most vacuum leaks are in the engine bay.
